This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. The hostel was fantastic. We rented a tatami room, which was spotless, very comfortable and with a really nice view. The onsen was amazing, we absolutely loved it. Everything was clean, there were snacks, eggs to boil in the onsens in town and all cooking and serving tools to eat them afterwards. The bathrooms were incredibly clean. This was our favourite stay along the Kumano Kodo, despite being the cheapest.

Every room at this hotel is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. All rooms are fitted with a private bathroom. Extras include free toiletries and a hairdryer. All rooms feature a Plasmacluster ion air purifier/humidifier. We thought that the hotel was absolutely perfect! We couldn't get over how helpful and kind all of the staff were. They rang a taxi for us and personally waited until our taxi pulled away with us in it. The room was fantastic with everything we could possibly need. Beds were super comfortable and the location was great - just a short 25 minute walk until you were in the heart of Osaka.

In addition, the extremely helpful staff really made our stay pleasant. I recommend the Japanese breakfast if you want to experience high-end Japanese food!

The Todai-ji Temple and Deer Park are a 10-minute stroll away, while Nara Station on the Kintetsu Line is a 7-minute walk. JR Nara Station is 14-minutes away on foot. So far, this has been the highlight of our trip to Japan! The hotel is amazing — beautifully located with stunning views, and full of charm. There are plenty of free activities to enjoy, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. We absolutely loved our stay in the traditional Japanese room; it was such a special experience and we honestly regret not booking more nights. The onsen was a wonderful bonus, and having a konbini attached to the hotel was super convenient. Nara itself is a magical place, and staying here made it even better. Highly recommended!
