Surrounded by lush greenery, Mampei Hotel offers free WiFi and free on-site private parking. JR Karuizawa Station is a 10-minute drive from this non-smoking accommodation. We had a wonderful stay at Mampei Hotel, a beautiful hotel with a long and rich history. The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Mr. Komiyama (if I got his name right), who went out of his way to assist us. The atmosphere was warm and peaceful, and it was special to stay at a place once frequented by John Lennon. Our room was elegant and comfortable, with a private onsen bath, and breakfast was thoughtfully prepared to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The scenic drive in and proximity to the old Ginza street added to the charm. A truly memorable and happy experience.

AIBIYA ligt in Yamanouchi in de regio Nagano, op 4,1 km van het Jigokudani Monkey Park. Het biedt een barbecue en een skiopslag. Everything! Aibiya guesthouse was the break in the mountains I needed after travelling around for a few weeks. The house, the amenities, the breakfast, Yoshi and Seongmi are the sweetest people and always there to help you or give you advices.

Raicho Onsen Inn ligt in Matsumoto, op 39 km van Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en skiën tot aan de deur. There’s simply no words good enough to describe a little hidden gem like Raicho. Everything was perfect here. All the staffs speak perfect English and they would drive you from the bus station or to the dinner place whenever they are available. In Winter they are the only party that operates kamikochi tours which on a sunny day is a once in a life time experience. The outdoor onsen is amazing in the snow (dont get scared off from the cold). The fireplace is beyond amazing and all the people staying there are friendly, dormitory are surprisingly quiet at night and the beds are so comfy and warm. It almost felt like we were in Switzerland or something. Ten of of ten experience.

Located in Karuizawa, Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton is situated a 6-minute walk from Kyu Karuizawa Ginza Dori shopping street. The service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to assist us and make our stay as comfortable as possible. Despite being an upmarket hotel, they were still very accommodating and welcoming of our toddler and there were extra amenities for her which were appreciated. The hotel is situated in the older part of Karuizawa and is within walking distance of many beautiful attractions and restaurants/cafes. The breakfast is also excellent.

ノマの森 Nomanomori B&B is gelegen in Chino en biedt gratis WiFi, een tuin, een terras en een bar. The hosts are kind and thoughtful and gave us very good advice for dinner locally and for our next destination. Best of all, the breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

B&B Hotel Hyochoan is geopend in augustus 2012 en biedt eenvoudige accommodatie in westerse stijl. Er is gratis WiFi op de kamer en u kunt vogels spotten vanaf het terras van de accommodatie. The owners are very hospitable . The owner gave us a ride back to the train station and made a couple sightseeing stops and even took pictures for us. The breakfast was exceptional homemade Japanese food using top quality ingredient. We were even served a gold award sake which was excellent. The bed was super comfy. The property is within walking distance to nearby restaurants and onsen.

Oshi Ryokan ligt in Nagano, op 20 km van Zenkō-ji Tempel en 22 km van station Nagano, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en gratis privéparkeren. We had an amazing time at Oshi ryokan. It was truly a highlight in our 2 week trip to Japan. After having a very busy few weeks walking and travelling around from city to city, this was the perfect place to spend our last few days. The food was excellent and easily the best food we ate while in Japan. Oshi and his family are so hospitable, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. It was a peaceful, romantic and restorative getaway. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back

Bij Daymaruya Ryokan kunnen de gasten genieten van warmwaterbronbaden en traditionele accommodaties in Japanse stijl met gratis vast internet. Very spacious and beautifully presented rooms in traditional Ryokan in the middle of Shibu Onsen. Comfortable Tatami beds. Great to have private toilet. The onsite outdoor private Onsen and inside (male/female) onsens were fantastic. Loved the supplied Yukata and Geta for the Onsens. Key supplied for all public onsens through town. The owners were so helpful and kind, driving us to and from snow monkeys and to Yudanaka station for our train. Enjoyed the traditional home made breakfast delivered to our room at reasonable price in beautiful bento box.

Located in the Shibu hot-spring district, guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths at Suminoyu. Massages can be requested and a footbath is also available for extra relaxation. Absolutely loved our stay here. Our room was gorgeous and massive, with two beds and Tatami area. The baths upstairs were amazing, the authentic Japanese meals, dinner and breakfast were amazing and the presentation was 10/10 at the tatami tables. The staff were lovely and we loved the robes we were given, they thought of absolutely everything for us. The fact you have access to other baths too is great, can’t recommend this place enough!

Peanuts House Kumakuma bevindt zich in Nozawa Onsen, op 32 km van Jigokudani Monkey Park en 41 km van Suzaka Zoo. Clean, friendly, comfortable.
