Otsu

Loved the location, the historic building, and the wonderful breakfast. The host was very welcoming and kind! I felt very comfortable in my room and the showers were very clean.

The hotel is a 10-minute drive from Otsu Train Station, which is a 9-minute train ride from JR Kyoto Train Station. Exceptional view of Biwako from the room. The room is very spacious. Large parking lot.
Hikone

Room with tatami and dinner. Defintely have the dinner, it was probably the best meal I had in Japan during my 3 week travel.
My room did not have common walls with other rooms, so it was very quiet.

Lovely to stay in such a traditional house.
Lovely room. The shuttle bus to and from Otsu station is an excellent service. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice. Great lake views. Good laundry service.
An absolutely beautiful property and location. It was so lovely to get out of the touristy areas of Japan. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and gave us great recommendations for the area. We would highly recommend staying here!
The onsen, the relaxation room and the pool outside the onsen were lovely. The staff were friendly too.
The cabin was so cute and really lovely inside! It had lots of fun boardgames and plenty of yard space to play some badminton. We had a very relaxing weekend here, highly recommend.
The Kiyotaki Ryokan is a beautiful traditional house, the atmosphere is quiet and perfect to relax. The owners are very kind and helpful. The breakfast is delicious!
The house was so beautiful, really clean and newly renovated, the interior was considered and everything fit really well together. There was enough space to hang out at the house and feel relaxed. Really nice bath as well and lovely little garden.
The owners were so friendly and caring! It was such a lovely experience staying with them! If you want to have a relaxing day in a countryside area and just want to experience the laid back life there I recommend you to stay there. Besides it's not far to go to lake biwa by a little walking and to go to imazu to catch a ferry to chikubu Island.
A beautiful location for a simply gorgeous hotel. The room was lovely with a fantastic view of the lake, the breakfasts were well rounded choices and delicious, and most of all the staff were always helpful. I highly recommend staying here if you want to explore around Kyoto and Lake Biwa, and then have a great place to relax after a busy day, or to take a break and some time to simply relax
