Opened in April 2014 after a thorough renovation, this ryokan features spacious guest rooms surrounded by tranquil mountains. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive and helpful. We had rented a car and in the morning we found that the staff had placed a cover over the wind screen to prevent frost from forming. We were impressed by their attention to detail.

Featuring 5-star accommodation, Ryokan Shinsen is located in Takachiho, 600 metres from Takachiho Shrine and 1.8 km from Takachiho Gorge Freshwater Fish Aquarium. This was our favorite place in Kyushu. It is small and the attention to every detail is exceptional. The decor from the wallpapers to the tiles, and from the design of the onsen to the gardens are impeccable. The meals were also excellent. The hospitality of the staff, in particular Kumi-San and Megumi-San, was also a highlight.

Set 8 km from Horikawa Bridge, Nazuna Obi Onsen Resort offers 5-star accommodation in Nichinan and features a garden. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. We loved our stay here. The room was very special and the outside bath was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and very courteous. We had the breakfast and it was wonderful. Different on each day and they were able to cater to our dietary needs.

5.4 km from Horikawa Bridge in Nichinan, 天然温泉ひなたの宿日南宮崎 provides accommodation with access to a sauna. The 4-star ryokan is 14 km from Udo-jingu Shrine. There is no way this is a 7.8 hotel (booking dot com score), I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. This is a 8.8 area place, maybe higher. Beautiful room, superb onsen, great staff, about the best Japanese breakfast on the planet (only Y2,000), good value

Set 2.3 km from Miyazaki Station, 7.6 km from Oyodo River Study Center and 11 km from Miyazaki Phoenix Zoo, Yurakuan Miyazaki provides accommodation located in Miyazaki. Very clean, very homely. I loved the room which comes with an indoor bath and tatami room. Service was wonderful!

The meals were a true culinary delight, and we savored every bite. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally warm and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. Their kindness and attentiveness did not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciated their efforts. One of the highlights of our stay was the open-air private onsen. It was an amazing experience that added a touch of serenity and relaxation to our trip. We couldn't have asked for a better way to unwind.

13 km from Totoro-kō in Nobeoka, Kenrokuen features accommodation with access to a hot tub. A sauna and a bicycle rental service are available for guests. great location. the room is clean but a bit old and just too small for 4 people. the staff is quite friendly. has old sauna room but usable.
