From the drinks bar at check-in to the tasting room open all day to the all-you-can-drink plan at dinner, the hotel was really quite generous with their liquid offerings. Even non-drinkers are accommodated with plenty of alcohol-free options. We also liked that they had multiple private baths on site. The main onsen were also quite nice. The food was fantastic and the beef served at dinner was some of the best I've had.

They allowed me to check in early and even let me use the onsen in the afternoon after checkout.

The ryokan also offers free use of bicycles. Great rooms. We had both Japanese dinner and breakfast... what a treat!! The staff was wonderful as well. From the women's onsen you can see a cherry tree, and it happened to be in bloom! It was a truly extraordinary experience and worth the money.

Both Japanese-style rooms with tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding or Western-style rooms with beds are available. Each room comes with a flat-screen satellite TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Japanese Yukata robes are provided for all guests. Excellent room, great view of the snow capped mountains, most revitalizing onsen and excellent meals. Hotel perfectly accommodated to our dietary requirements. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Everything was perfect, a beautiful ryokan on a great spot. Close to the stairway to mount Haguro. A beautiful walk. The host and his wife are very friendly people. And she cooks like a masterchef so book the breakfast and dinner! You have too because no other restaurants, no convientstores. We travelled by public transport. Well organized.
