1. Sensitive and extremely high-quality renovation of a large, old building.
2. Very large room and bed in a quiet position at the rear of the house.
3. Concept of "reduced staff levels" saves costs and actually works fine.
4. Breakfast is simple and adequate -upstairs room has moer light.
5. Parking very close by. Hotel provides a parking card with reduced rates.
6. Good, quiet location. The centre of Lüneburg is easily reachable on foot.

Great location, breakfast and staff service were excellent. Food is very healthy, creative and delicious. Lynn especially was so efficient, helpful warm and friendly, and solved (almost) all our issues and answered all our questions with patience and clarity.

Lüneburg may not be on the hot "tourist trail", but it's a beautiful, small, north German city, with great architecture, and quite a few good restaurants. The Johanneskirche, with a gorgeous interior and an enormous tower, warrants a visit to Lüneburg all by itself!

I had nowhere near enough time to explore all the features, medieval architecture and history of Luneburg so I can't really give it a proper review. If you are a fan of history and historic sites and old towns dating back to medieval times, you must visit Luneburg and try to plan on at least 3 or 4 days!

The city is over 1000 years old.
The city is over 1000 years old. It wasn't much destroyed during WWII so it's one of the most amazing examples of architecture from the Middle Ages to the 1900s. But it's also very alive. The mix of people is Lueneburgers, students from all over the world and tourists. The vibe is historic chill - because all the old buildings are being used today. History comes to life in this town. I highly recommend it and I have traveled the world.

A very popular tourist destination, full of history and associated architecture and well worth a stay of two or three days. All the principal attractions are within walking distance of the railway station. The Deutsche Salzmuseum was superb and very informative about salt extraction and processing. The 'Krone' restaurant (Heiligengeiststraße 39-41) with its Lüneburger Pfannenschlag and draught Lüneburger is good for a filling lunch.

Beautiful town. Wonderful to walk through.
Beautiful town. Wonderful to walk through. Not far from major city of Hamburg or Hannover making it very easy to get to and from. My family is from this city which makes this a very comfortable place to visit. shopping is good, restaurants are very good. If you are visiting Germany and really crave Italian food, Osteria is highly recommended. :-)

Beautiful historic city with tons of beautiful houses.
We walked through the city in the day, and enjoyed the river environment and restaurants by night.
This lovely old hotel is situated right in the center of beautiful Lüneburg where you can walk to everything or rent a bike about two blocks away to get around faster. We stayed on the top floor (80 steps up?), no elevator but we didn't mind as we live in Amsterdam. Our rooms were on the front of the building with a view over the many red brick roofs, with a little sitting area so a good sized room (#8). The owners explain everything which is great as they are not at the property at night.
Beautiful hotel, with friendly staff.
We arrived eariler than it was planned, and I just sent them a message is it possible to checkin early (around 1pm) and I got the response "your room is rady" :)
The hotel itself, is old but beautiful and charming. Room was really clean and comfortable. Big tv, Hot shower, Ketell (with several tea bags), ...
Also its very well located, you can find many good restaurants in the vicinity.
In short, highly recommended.
A really nice boutique hotel near the centre of beautiful Luneburg. The room was simply furnished, but spacious with a very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. Like most hotels in Germany, there was no air conditioning so it was quite warm even if the outside temperaturewas only in the low 20s.. A fan helped but it would be unbearable in really hot weather. Breakfast was great and parking was secure and easy (if not exactly next door).
Everyone was friendly and the hotel was clean and quiet. I liked the shaded outdoor area. The location was perfect for walking to the town and other sights. Once again, the staff was excellent, and I would recommend the hotel to anyone that would like to visit the hidden gem of Luneburg.
Very unique experience in a beautiful old house in lovely downtown Lüneburg! The location can't be beat-right in the heart of the town with cafes, bars, restaurants, and lovely little shops all around. The host was very friendly and the facilities clean and in good order.
Centrally located, spacious room for a toddler to run around, and one of the most fantastic breakfast buffets I've experienced. The sauna is just across and there is even a connection where you can walk between the hotel and the Thermen in the basement.
The location was perfect. This hotel was extremely nice: beautifully decorated, delicious breakfast and supernice and helpful staff. We travelled with our dog and our room was greatly prepared for this . Very dog friendly.
Our expectations were highly
This is a great place to stay when not only visiting Luneburg but when visiting Hamburg. Personal, warm and cozy is how I would describe this hotel. Hamburg is only a short train ride from here. Stay at this hotel.
The location is excellent, right in the city center of beautiful Lüneburg. Staff was very friendly, room was very clean and functional. We will definitely be back to stay longer next time. Wonderful hotel.
This is such a cute little hotel and the staff goes ABOVE and BEYOND to make your stay sweet! They even got me VEGAN breakfast although this is an "old" hotel. I was very impressed.
The hotel was located nearby both the center of Lumeburg and the train station. Just walking 5mnts. Also it was very clean and the staff was so friendly.
