We loved Hótel Flatey. We had a delightful little room, with a lovely view and were very comfortable. We were met at the ferry and our luggage taken for us so we were free to wander the coastal path to the hotel without worrying about carrying bags. Every member of staff we met was friendly and super-helpful. The restaurant was excellent and we loved the honesty bar for afternoon drinks. A great deal of time was spent sitting at the balcony tables in the sunshine watching the world go by.... it was a truly relaxing couple of days. We will definitely come back!!

Right next to the ferry, this beautiful historic property was a great landing pad at the start of our West Fjord adventure. The staff was welcoming and friendly, the interior was very cozy and well maintained. Great breakfast. Had a fun evening nearby at the local restaurant and hot spring. Highly recommend the stay!

    I loved the peace and quiet of the island and the chance to...

    I loved the peace and quiet of the island and the chance to stop and relax away from the bustle of normal life. It felt like going back in time to spend a while here. The bird life is abundant and photographers or bird lovers will love it here. The church is well worth a visit with its beautiful painted walls and ceiling and we enjoyed wandering the coastal paths, shared only by the sheep and birds.
