Comfortable with absolutely everything we needed. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were very comfortable and cosy. Loved having the fire roaring which kept the whole house nice and toasty. Our host (Melanie) was an absolute delight to deal with, such a lovely lady and super host! A beautiful property with lots of native birds and quiet surroundings.

Tomah Retreat - Studio BREATHE with fireplace, hotel in Bilpin

Situated in Mount Tomah in the New South Wales region, Tomah Retreat - Studio BREATHE with fireplace has a garden.

Despite the icy cold weather, Bronwen warmly greeted us when we arrived late in the afternoon. She led us through the lovely well kept gardens and let us intro the cosy retreat. The little roaring log burner was perfect to relax beside and hide away from the bitter wintry conditions. The happy fat rooster woke us up to a stunning sunrise over the mountains below and we mooched around the woodland greeting the animals -Flora the pig and Bowie the giant fluffy dog were a special treat! The sweet mini ponies in the paddock at the entrance were keen to be let loose to roam ☺️Freshly laid eggs, freshly baked sourdough loaf and locally sourced apple juice made for a welcome breakfast. The sauna in the woods was fun and a perfect way to unwind. The bed was large and luxurious with fabulous bedding, decorated with local sprigs of greenery and towels for the sauna! We slept like logs and felt replenished after just a short stay.

    Beautiful drive around Bilpin.

Beautiful drive around Bilpin. Long winding roads so drive carefully, especially in the rain. Lots of cute little cafes to eat in. Famous for its apples-possible to pick your own off the tree. Lovely old homesteads and rolling hills.

Bilpin is a quiet location that has some tourist options...

Bilpin is a quiet location that has some tourist options mostly food and scenery based. There are no local options for dinner but places to have lunch and breakfast. The nearest dinner restaurant is about 15 mins away so it is best to bring food with you. As an alternative to the more tourist driven main highway it is a perfect quiet get away from it all place to stay.

A quiet town with beautiful vistas from many locations. Plenty of roadside photos to be taken. Well known for its apples, be sure to sample some of the fresh produce and stop in at one of the cider producers!

We loved the bushland setting and the many various birds that visited, the dawn chorus. We had our own binoculars for bird-watching but noted that a pair of binoculars was available if needed, Breakfasts in the house where we stayed were sensational! Our host and hostess were friendly and available. They attended to all our needs, giving good advice when discussing places of interest to visit and where to get food if wanted - they had lived in the vicinity for a good while and were very familiar with the area.
