Hotel Atlântico Business Centro, hotel in Rio de Janeiro

Hotel Atlântico Business is located in downtown Rio de Janeiro, 200 metres from the stately Theatro Municipal. It offers an outdoor swimming pool and a rooftop sun deck with splendid views.

Breakfast was very nice, meets expectations and over for price paid for room. Room looks good but visibly aged, may not satisfy all tastes. Location is awesome, close to many bus and metro routes, taxis at the door, tourist atractions in close vicinity/walking distance. Makes up for aged room. Mostly nice staff who helped in everything we needed whenever we needed, educated and corteous.

Lovely old hotel that is located at a perfect location with walking access to both Copacabana and Ipanema. When we arrived the staff was helpful, especially Pedro ! Helped us figure out the car parking and any questions we had. We booked the delux room and The room was a good size. Felt very safe during our stay with best part being you can leave all your valuables in the hotel and go for a swim to the beach. Lastly the breakfast was excellent so I highly recommend to opt for it.

Rio Aeroporto Hotel Galeão, hotel in Rio de Janeiro

Offering a restaurant and a fitness centre, Rio Aeroporto Hotel Galeão is located on the 3rd floor of Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport (Terminal 1). Free WiFi access is available.

Check-in Experience: * Arrived at 20:30, received room at 21:00. * Took 30 minutes to complete the check-in process. * Only the reception representative spoke English, causing a delay in resolving our room key issue until 22:00. Room Issues: * Shower took 10 minutes to produce water, an additional 5 minutes to get warm. * Requested a room change due to shower issues. * Housekeeping staff were visibly upset and impolite, avoiding eye contact and not engaging with us. * Shower in the new room also took 10 minutes to work, with poor water flow. * Air conditioning was noisy. Location Concerns: * Terminal 1 is deactivated at night, with no lights or signs for the hotel. * Difficult and intimidating to navigate through an empty terminal to find the hotel. Service and Communication: * Paid for breakfast but did not receive it, and no refund was offered. * Verbal and signage communication needs improvement. * Staff training in hospitality, particularly in handling guest issues with kindness and professionalism, is necessary. Facilities Maintenance: * Showers need urgent maintenance to ensure proper functionality.

FAQs about hotels in Rio de Janeiro

Sassy City of Samba

Home of samba, Brazil’s 2nd largest city is sassy, seductive and spectacular. The Rio Carnival is legendary the world over for outrageous costumes and infectious rhythms.

Host of the 2014 World Cup final in Maracanã stadium and the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics, Rio de Janeiro is forward-thinking. High rises line Ipanema beach and you can find dozens of rollerbladers on the promenades at any time.

The hottest spot is Copabacana, a great place to try biscoito globo, a typical Rio beach snack. Sip a caipirinha here while the sun sets over the bay and mountains – unforgettable. It doesn’t end there though. Clubbing in Rio is fantastic and ranges from techno to traditional bossa nova. Bohemian beats can be found in Santa Teresa and Lapa, whose trams pass over a double-arched viaduct.

Overlooking all this from Corcovado mountain is iconic Christ the Redeemer, welcoming the world to Rio with arms outstretched. Take the funicular railway up to this statue on the edge of lush Tijuca Park for incredible views. Accessed by cable car, Sugar Loaf Mountain is also not to be missed.

Rio de Janeiro Airport is well linked to the ‘Marvellous City’, but traffic can be manic, so leave enough time to reach it from your Rio hotel, apartment or hostel booked through Booking.com.

Will DEFINITELY be back to Rio de Janeiro!!

Will DEFINITELY be back to Rio de Janeiro!! It is a BEAUTIFUL city & so many activities in the area. Close to many restaurants, live shows, bars, convenience stores. Pricey to be in this area but worth-it staying within walking distance. We heard some stories of bag snatching & phone thefts, but we were SAFE walking around. We didn't use our phones out in public, instead we checked our locations & GPS before we left & used nearby stores to pop into on our way to getting to places, so we could SAFELY check our phones (to make sure we were still on track) Many tour operators in the area if U choose to do tourist attractions. We done a few on our own, since they were easily accessible by bus / taxi & cost a LOT cheaper. There are many attractions U can book online to SAVE U money & many we done during the week when it was not congested

Rio is a world-class city in a spectacular location that is worth visiting any time. The beaches are world-famous, but the national parks, especially the botanical garden, as also worth visiting. I have been visiting Rio since the mid-1990's and have never had a negative experience. For details, I can suggest you look at the very many videos and reviews already available on line.

Copacabana and Ipanema.... at least I have seen less smelly beaches though I love happy crowd wandering and jogging around there! Lappa and Pedra Sul... no comment! not sure what interesting in Samba circuit for a foreigner. Just make sure not too many Caipirinha and Cachasa!!

The people we did interact with were very friendly but I've been told only about 2% of Brazilians speak English which seems out of character for a tourist destination. It did seem true, however, and I used iTranslate/Google translate to get by. Rio was the final port on a cruise so we did run into people we knew as we went around. My brother had been to a wedding here a year before so we also asked his opinion, he thought 2 days would be fine. Maybe another day though I was ready to go home by the time I left. I noticed on the tour aggregators (Expedia/Viator) there isn't much for English speakers beyond Christ Redeemer, SugarLoaf, hang gliding and favela tours. No general city overview tours, for example. We had been to beaches along the coast so didn't need that but I was told Ipanema Beach was better than Copa, the nightlife was more geared to tourists and a cleaner beach. I stayed in Santa Teresa but couldn't really get into the vibe not speaking the language. I found amazing things to do - loved MAR (museum) of Rio and the church at the monastery of Sao Bento. My sister and I did do a private city tour which included going to Christ Redeemer and anything else we wanted to do. We were picked up at the pier and dropped at our hotel. We had a driver and guide so luggage was safe and communication was simple. I didn't bring enough outlet adaptors for the many types of electrical sockets Brazil seems to have, fyi.

Anna Suites was situated in next building of Arena hotel and breakfast was in Arena hotel. They had very good fresh fruit selection: watermelon, melon, papaya, mango, Usual English breakfast stuff like scrambled eggs, sausages but additional 4 different salty pies every morning. Also plenty of sweet option to choose from. Only thing I did miss was fresh salads, tomato, cucumber etc. In general tasty and filling so could skip they lunch with ease. Location was good between Copacabana and Ipanema beach , both only few minutes walk away.

The hotel is in a great location at Ipanema if that's where you want to be. Right on the beach, very close to lots of bars, restaurants and shops. A short walk to the metro. Great location is you want to be close to the beach, but easy enough to get around to other locations in Rio. Walking distance to Copacabana. The breakfasts were just amazing. A great spread and the staff are all great. Shout out to Marcio and Thiago at the from desk who were so helpful. This was our first visit and location perfect for that.

This hotel has a great location directly on Copacabana and yet close to Ipanema. The rooms were tidy and well planned, small (hard to find place for four bags in the family room) but the price and location certainly makes up for that. The breakfast on the 10th floor (bar at nights) has an outstanding view of Copacabana - however it gets crowded and it was hard to get breakfast both up there and in the second room on the ground floor. It is almost worth booking without breakfast and find some place close by.

The location is great, near botafogo metro station! Very convenient especially during carnaval. The hotel was really safe and the staff extremely friendly. My room was perfect for the two weeks I spent in Rio, comfortable desk and fast internet for teleworking. The room was very clean and breakfast was a plus. Like any other neighborhood in Rio, you have to be careful at night..but it was nice to walk/bike near the bay front with views of the Sugar Loaf. Overall a good value!

The breakfast was great, shower and bed very good also. The location of the Hotel is very good too, very nearby Ipanema beach, about 20 min walk, and right at Copacabana Beach, plenty of restaurants and bars around.

Great location, exceptional breakfast, and excellent view from our balcony. In my opinion, much better value for money compared to the two more expensive hotels on Copacabana beach (Fairmont and Copacabana Palace)

Breakfast is OK. Location is next to copacabana, 2 minute walk. Good for those who are looking to spend time on the Copacabana beach. Rooms are big compared to other hotels in Rio especially next to the beach.

Very good hotel, employees and breakfast for the price. The location is less than 5 minutes walk from Copacabana beach and 10-15min from Ipanema beach.

Great offer to value ratio, hotel was near the Copacabana beach. Breakfast starts early which is a great thing also.
