With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

Budapest has to be one of the most beautiful cities in...
Budapest has to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The buildings are amazing both inside and out. Everywhere is very clean. There are several thermal baths to visit, an incredible opera house, a nice zoo and the beautiful Danube runs through the city, dividing Buda from Pest. You can take boat trip either during the day or a night, both of which I would highly recommend. There is also so much history, some of which is incredibly sad and particularly moving is the monument near the river of the shoes cast in bronze of Jews who perished during WW2. Lots of wonderful churches to visit including many places where you can climb the towers to get a bird's eye view of the city.JulianaUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

The problem with tip giving is that every one likes other things. You have a great variety of restaurants bars and street food and anyone can get what he likes. The city had great history and you can see it when going around the city. The transportation is excellent. People over 65 get a raid free even to the airport. It is my fourth time in the city since 1990 and it is always better.

Lovely city with beautiful architecture. BUT the city center (and around it) was filled with ugly graffiti everywhere. Every wall available on the ground floor was covered in all kinds of spray writing. Lots of beggars everywhere, foul smell. There are nice things to do and experience, as well. You just need to be very intentional about what you want to visit and plan in advance. Beautiful city, clean and for the most part walkable. Loads to do and see, plenty of great sights. Take a free guided tour asap to get tips and find your way about. Download the Budapest tram app and buy tickets on the app. As usual in these places the centre is expensive for eating, try dining on the Buda side or slightly out of the centre for greater value. The Kisskakuk is absolutely superb, and a third cheaper than anywhere central. We had three full days and could have filled one more. The opera house, Basillica, synagogue and parliament are all worth seeing but book before you go. Don’t pay more than 15/20 euros for a night time River cruise.

Lovely old city with friendly people. Restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. Having the Danube was brilliant, everyone needs to go on a boat trip down it...especially at night to see all the important buildings lit up...a beautiful experience. The tram system was excellent to get around but we did have a resident of the city with us which made it super easy.

Loved so much about the city.
Loved so much about the city. Highlights St Stephens Basilica, Parliament tour, St Margets island, Arisloget area, walk to other side of river via Chain Bridge to Buda to visit St Matthias Church, Fisherman's Bastion and Palace. When in Buda you must wait until sundown to see the Parliament building lit up and then walk back via the Palace and Chain Bridge all lit up. Very memorable.

Everything is super clean (the bathroom, the bed linen, towels etc.), the neighbourhood is really quiet, and we also had a balcony to enjoy our morning coffee. Bus stop is nearby, you can reach the city centre in 30 min. I totally recommend this peace for the excellent quality-price ratio! The host is also very kind and considerate (thank you Balazs!)

The room is beautiful, nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. The shower is also perfect. I would definitely repeat it. The check in and check out were very quick and easy. We had no personal contact with any of the workers, but I did not find it a problem.
