Corinthia Budapest, hotel in Budapest

Standing proudly at the heart of grand Budapest, Corinthia occupies a legendary space in Budapest hospitality.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Gorgeous exterior and interior, worthy of being the inspiration for the movie The Grand Budapest Hotel. The location is perfection. Right in the centre of the city, walking distance to all the major sights/food/nightlife/metro/train stations. Our standard room was more akin to a junior suite, with ample extra space, king bed, sofa, desk and his/hers closets. The bathroom even had a soaker tub, which was great after a long day on castle hill. There's a spa onsite, and if you can't make it to the baths, I would recommend their spa packages as the convenience and price is spot on. The onsite bar had live Hungarian music in the evenings which was also a pleasure to enjoy. Top notch across the board. Stay here; you won't be disappointed.

FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.

    So many nice architecture!!

So many nice architecture!! Everywhere you look, it is beautiful. Shopping: mainly the big familiar stores are there. Prices: not cheap, regular European prices. Watch out: when you pay by card: choose HUF, not Euro or other valuta. When you are at a restaurant they already charge service costs, no big tip needed.

Budapest is a destination that captures your heart from the moment you set foot in the city. It surprises you with its rich history, impressive architecture. Budapest is another one of the charming, old time cities that we have visited in Europe that just makes us so glad that we have traveled and explored there. Like Prague, another favorite of ours, Seniors are allowed to utilize the wonderful transportation system (trains, trams and buses) to get around to see the entire city. We took advantage of this and as of this writing are planning on returning to Budapest for a much longer experience.

The location is perfect- walking distance to the city centre, near to 2 metro stations & a tram station (from different directions), it’s a peaceful area even though it’s located somewhere around the heart of pest, Budapest. The room is comfortable & spacious for a family of three. Everything is clean including the bathroom. The service is really good & helpful. There are no convenient supermarkets nearby to go to at night (to buy water) but the restaurant next to the hotel lets us buy bottle of water from them.

The hotel looks a little bit shabby on the outside, but inside it’s completely renovated and looks beautiful and modern. The breakfast was fine, simple, and provided something for everyone. The staff was always incredibly helpful and kind! It’s a little further away from the city centre but super close to a metro and busstation which will get you into the city with no time. I would 100% recommend if you’re travelling to Budapest by car because of the free parking that comes with your stay!!

This hotel is perfect! It is located right on the river side of the Danubio, close to bus stops that will take you to the city centre in 20 mins. The continental breakfast offers plenty of choices and the food is really fresh. The staff is always kind and ready to help. The spa is included in the room price, there are 3 pools and a sauna. The thermal pool at 38° is the best place to relax after a long day in the city. We will come back for sure!
