Shutters on the Bank was very clean, quiet, and relaxing. I will definitely be booking again with my family! We've found our go to spot whenever we travel to OBX! The front desk staff were friendly and the room service staff were friendly!

The room had lots of space. Bed was comfortable. Good view, location and parking. There is no longer continental breakfast, there is a larger fridge with freezer. Microwave and sink area. No carpet in the unit is nice for the beach area, units are being updated.

his hotel is a gem of a find. The location is amazing, right on the beach. We had a “partial sea view” room but from our balcony that was in the four story building had a great view, we watched the sun rise from the balcony. It was quiet and we rarely heard other guests.
The room was a 2 x double bed, lots of space and very clean. Beds were super comfortable and had everything we needed.
The staff were so welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. We were allowed to park and use the beach and changing rooms before checkin. They even called us early to say the room was ready.
The pool area was lovely to chill out at and the breakfast was awesome. Lots of choices and our kids had lots to eat to kickstart their day.
We opted out of house keeping during our 4 night stay but we’re able to get fresh towels and top up of coffees etc.
Nothing bad to say about this hotel, roll out of bed and straight to the beach. Nice place to eat opposite called Kill Devil Grill.
Beach was lovely and clean.
Special shout out to Tracey on reception who was so lovely and kind. Thank you John Yancey Staff and hotel. Highly recommend to couples and families

Loved the historical aspects along with tasteful updates.
We loved our stay at the Wright Stuff. There's so much to do; the beach, but also the Wright Memorial, the Teaching Gardens, Nags Head Wood Preserve, the wild horses, Manteo and Wanchese all very close by. We paddle boarded in the Sound and took a dolphin tour that was worth every penny. Couldn't believe how many dolphins were playing by our boat. Good golf courses nearby too. But the condo was so fun to stay at and was well supplied with everything to make vacationing fun and relaxing at the same time.

The beach was great.
The beach was great. Several great restaurants nearby but nothing within realistic walking distance from our place. Our accommodations were great for the price. We made our trip fun and memorable so overall it was grand!!

The Outer Banks of NC is a must see.
The Outer Banks of NC is a must see. We did it all in the time frame we had and the weather that didn't always cooperate. The Sand Dunes at Jockey State Park, The Wright Brothers Memorial, Jeanette's Pier, Pea Island, The Graveyard Memorial, The Elizabethan Gardens, and the Wild Horses Tour in the Hummer was all so exciting and amazing!! The restaurants we are at were just ok or not ok.....Sam Omies and The Crab House.

First time in OBX, loved it.
First time in OBX, loved it. We stayed here since it was pretty central to go both directions up and down the coast easily. There is plenty to do, weather pending. We came in shoulder season so it was quiet and a little chilly. I hear it gets incredibly busy in the summer. Beautiful part of the coast and will come again.

This hotel is beach front and although it was foggy and rainy, we could still see the ocean.
We liked the fact that there as a little cafe run by Dave who made us up a shrimp and salad supper so we didn’t have to navigate in the fog!
Most of all, the staff at the hotel are great and super helpful. We had a problem with payment which has been sorted out by the Manager, Lynnsey.

The location was perfect. You only had to cross the street over the sand dune and you were on the beach. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. Parking was adequate, and we were in a Ram pickup. It was quiet there as well. Has a small little porch you could sit on and relax. There was an outdoor shower for rinsing the salt and sand off.
LOVED the location where it was right on the beach. The restaurant in the hotel was so convenient and the food was good when we ate there. The hotel was located near so much stuff like places to eat, shops, mini golf etc.. so there is plenty of things to do! The room was a decent size and clean even with not having daily cleaning due to COVID guidelines.
Room was quiet, beds comfortable, balcony on ocean a nice bonus. The location is excellent, with easy beach access, and a great selection of eating places. Also, Kill Devil Hills is nicely situated if you want to take a drive all the way north, or south, along the Outer Banks. All this mattered to us because we were celebrating a special occasion.
The location of the hotel on the beach, the large deck, the pool and the gazebos, the staff was amazing, especially Karen, when we checked in we checked if we could extend our stay an extra day and she was able to accommodate us! Walking across the street to the Kill Devil Grill was for dinner was perfect! We will definitely be back!
The location to surrounding area was good, there is private motel entrance to for parking on the beach side, and hotel exterior was nice. Our bathroom was clean and rennovated, but sink was outside the bathroom and in the bedroom. Room was clean throughout, bed was fine, but room dated and needs upgrading.
Location location location! This was a nice stay directly on the beach! We have fur babies and the room we rented was perfect. The hotel has a good continental breakfast and you have a coffee machine in the room as well. We also has entertainment from the surfers on the beach riding their waves! Nice stay.
The location of the hotel is perfect, right on the beach with a pool. The room was huge and much larger and nicer than we expected. The breakfast options were great, and although breakfast may look different because of Covid restrictions everything was great. We will definitely be back!
Although the main areas of the hotel itself are a little tired, the rooms look refreshed and more modern and it all seemed very clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It is a great location and from our room we had a view of the ocean, what more could you want?!?
Beautiful room, the hotel is perfectly located on the beach and provides complimentary breakfast. We had a wonderful off season stay there during a trip to visit the Outer Banks.
The room was huge, super clean and comfy. Nothing was missing.
Breakfast- cheap, not hot and not worthy. We skipped it
Room- no toilet roll dispenser. AC doesn't cool the room even at 68f
Beach- we were deceived - full pool view partial ocean view. I booked ocean view that I never got. Stay away
It was a older style motel but was clean and staff was very nice great location nice pool on the beach had a great time was my family’s 1st time going to the outer banks we will definitely be going back
The location of the hotel was nice. It was a very short walk to the beach. Being able to walk out in the morning to see that sunrise was very nice. The breakfast was also good.
The hotel is right in the middle of kitty hawk. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. It’s not far from the beach. 10 minute drive to the Avalon pier.
This hotel is in an excellent location. It was nice to have a restaurant on site. The views from the oceanfront balcony alone make this hotel worth it.
