A small hotel run by the owner who took care of all. Of course Swiss hospitality is superb. The breakfast was more than plenty with surrounding that I felt like eating at home. The hotel was near the train station but no noise disturbed me at all during those 7-night stay.

The hosts, Irene and Bernhard are superb in providing a very relaxing holiday experience to their guests in terms of amenities and all needed support in their beautifully decorated Holzhaus. Highly recommended!!!

I like to experience a place from that country‘s perspective, plus I can work on my German!

The suite that we lived in was very large, enough for the 3 of us. It had a piano that my son enjoyed playing as well. The family owners and staff were the most hospitable, ensuring that we had a very memorable experience. We were also provided with a portable air conditioner in case it got warmer. We had stayed 3 nights, so enjoyed a special tourist card with free transport, cable car rides, cheese factory entry, and many discounts. We also were given free transport from the airport to the town.

The owners were great, cordial, and incredibly accommodating. We had extra luggage and they made it really easy to do and early drop off. The owners were responsive and helpful! We definitely would come back. Totally worth the money!

He provided sample items of produce from Appenzell for us. This was a delightful surprise. There was great on-site parking. The accommodation was within walking distance of the village centre, local sites, shopping and eateries. The location provided us with a fantastic base to explore further afield. While staying in Appenzell we did day trips to Ebenalp, St Gallen and Stein am Rhine. All were very manageable. The property had a lovely outdoor area with hammocks and a covered BBQ area available to guests. The self-contained apartment was well set up for a very comfortable stay. There was a coffee pod machine with pods supplied and all cooking accessories needed to eat in, if you wished to.
