This early 1800s castle is 10 minutes’ drive from Västervik. It offers fine dining, free spa access and a private beach. All rooms include free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Everything was superb. The best spa we have ever used. Dinner excellent. Room fabulous with amazing view. Comfy bed and quiet rooms. Staff on reception made us so welcome and attended to our every need. Compliments to Jamie in restaurant and Veronica at reception.

This eco-friendly hotel, about 400 metres from Västervik Central Station, is located on the waterfront. Great place in a beautiful town by the sea! Breakfast is very nice.

Hotel Skansen is located in central Färjestaden on the island of Öland. This historic, family-run hotel is 3 km away from Öland Bridge. Nice rooms, good breakfasts, friendly staff, and the spa was a pleasant addition. Great base for exploring Orland and the Kalmar area.

This guest house dates back to the 16th century and is situated in Örarevet Nature Reserve. It offers regional food, a wine cellar and a dining room with sea views. The breakfast was very good and had a lot of variety. Although the hotel is relatively far from other homes, this is very pleasant and is a good prerequisite for a nice rest.

This hotel is just 5 minutes' drive from both Kalmar Central Station and Kalmar Airport. Guests enjoy free WiFi internet and pool and sauna access. I booked this hotel mainly for Ironman Kalmar where all hotels closest to the venue where fully booked and if available would cost a fortune and Scandic Kalmar was the available option. I brought my entire family (wife + 2 kids) and adding the bike case as well, the room was not that spacious. Location wise, the hotel is 3-4km away from the Ironman race village but can easily reach by bus. Bus stop is just a few meters away from the hotel. There is a 24x7 convenience store next to it so you can easily buy stuff as and when needed even for odd hours. Buffet breakfast is very typical so I wouldn't highly rate it, it was the same type of menus during our 6 days stay at this hotel. Staff are welcoming and very helpful whenever we asked for directions.

Excellent location: Easy walking distance from the train station and city attractions. Lovely old building with modern touches. Fine restaurant for lunch and dinner and extensive free breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Very reasonable rates.
