About San Antonio

Including tips for the best time to visit San Antonio

Historical landmarks, modern attractions and cultural offerings are just a few of the many reasons that make San Antonio a popular place to visit in Texas, USA.

San Antonio is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, The Alamo and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. At The Alamo – a former Spanish mission and the site of a historic battle in 1836 – you can learn about the history of Texas Revolution through interactive displays and guided tours. San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is spread across a large area that comprises four missions established by Spanish Catholic priests in the 18th century. Four out of the five original missions still remain and you can explore their churches, compounds and other structures.

On your San Antonio holiday, set aside some time to visit the River Walk. This famous promenade along the San Antonio River is lined with shops, restaurants, museums and scenic nature spots. We enjoyed everything about the Drury.

20 July 2024

We enjoyed everything about the Drury. Location was great. The food was amazing. The staff was very friendly. Parking was easy. I cannot think of anything bad about the hotel stay other than the construction that was going on outside, but someday it will make it perfect.

Beautiful weather, landscapes, communities, food have to mention "HEB" is a great/wonderful place to shop, river walk, Guadalupe river and lots of rivers, San Antonio is just an amazing city that I'm about to enjoy for the rest of my life. Too bad about Econo Lodge where I received the worst customer service. Other than that I thank God for directing me to live in San Antonioooooo!!!! Much thankful.

River walk is a must.

7 July 2024

River walk is a must. Especially after dark, the river walk is very beautiful. Also there are signature restaurants which you should definitely try, especially for non vegetarians. It also has a RainForest cafe that has some decent vegetarian options. Also there are open theaters in riverwalk where they have programs from 6.30 to 10.30. You need to have tickets which you can get onsite. Also make sure you take the boat ride in river walk. It is worth every penny and do not forget to tip the captain of the boat.

I live north of San Antonio but I think it is a great city with a lot of fun activities. The Riverwalk is beautiful-there are water parks and a zoo if you are a family. Great Mexican food everywhere-shopping etc. I hadn’t been down there in a while and the highways are greatly improved

I'm from San Antonio. This was our host city for Our Annual Bibbs/Darden Family Reunion. The ZEN Generation enjoyed the River Walk. Of course the children had fun at the Children Museum. Awesome restaurants in San Antonio

Go with a plan, at a glance not a lot to do, you need to search outside the downtown areas to find some hidden gems. Prepare to wait for long dinner times as vey crowded. We enjoyed visiting the various missions that are just a few miles from each other.
