Melsungen proved to be a village almost like taken out of a fairy tale. And this is actually not so strange since this is also the homeland of the Grimm Brothers. Where ever you go in the centre of the village there are quotes and figures from the Grimm fairytales, and the houses in themselves also looks like from a book of stories!LennartSweden

We stayed for one night but could have stayed for more nights to explore the village. We will book here if we are driving the same way again. We had a some missmatch between booking.com and the hotel booking (5 person but the hotel booking was only 4, they just fixed it with no extra charge.) Just excellent service. We did not try the breakfast so I can not comment on it. Free parking during the night outside. It was clean and nice.

I was on a solo bicycle and as myself and other bicyclists left the hotel, we all received a bag with fruit, water, and candy in it from our day’s ride. In 6,000 miles of bicycling in Europe that was a first.
