Hotel Henri IV, hotel in Saint-Denis-de-Pile

Located a few kilometers from the Saint-Emilion Vineyards and set in a 19th century property, Hotel Henri IV offers a garden, a terrace and a veranda.

Lovely old building. Very clean. Breakfast was nice but very basic. Parking was very good. The bed was very comfortable, just where it was located in a small room that was unconfortable getting to it due to the low ceiling.

We were sad to wait until 5.00 to book in but such quality was worth waiting for.. We wanted to see St Emilion, not so far away, but perhaps too far to return in the evening. So just time for a quick swim and out to a local, jrecommended by Carol, restaurant. ( thank goodness for sat nav - and cheaper that Saint Emilion). Also grateful sun was shining so we had a quick cup of tea in the garden.. Maybe on our return, if we arrive before 5.00 pm, we'll ask if we can enter a little earlier, for a swim, before we go out to supper?
