From the moment we arrived the welcome was great. Such a welcoming relaxing stay. Perfect for bikers or anyone really. Food was fab. All the staff (family run) are just lovely and more than happy to help with anything from a charging cable to a suitable biking route to which yummy dinner to choose! Rooms and bed very comfortable. Relaxing areas were perfect for socialising with others and the map room was just awesome. Could’ve spent ours in there. Will definitely be back.

Very good location less than an hour outside of Glasgow and very easy access to the motorway. Quiet location and no noise from the pub below. Excellent breakfast, perfectly cooked to order.
We arrived quite late to eat the previous evening (8pm) but they accommodated us . The menu was pub grub, and wasn’t as good as the breakfast, but perfectly acceptable.
A very nice touch was the fresh flowers on each table.
Rooms were basic but clean and quiet.

The garden room was perfect for our needs as hubby is disabled. Our Sunday meal was the roast dinner for me, hubby chose a pie but wished he had chosen the same as me! The room had all we needed with coffee, tea etc, clean towels as needed, very clean and well presented. Shower was great with toiletries provided. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

All in all it was the most pleasant and perfect stay and experience to us.We felt there was no bad bits about the place, but is was tastefully decorated and restored environment, going respectfully with the historical era of the building. Delicious food, well thought out everything about customers stay. Many thanks and warm recommendations.

Moffat is a lovely little town with many quirky shops and quite a few short local walks for the adventurers also there are longer walks for the more adventurist especially a 10 mile drive to the The Grey Mares Tail is well worth a visit but the road to it is very narrow in places

All the good things that other reviewers have said are true - this is a superb hotel. I don't want to just repeat what others have said but in summary - high standard of cleanliness, beautiful accommodation and outside space, delicious food, etc - but I'd like to focus on the staff.
We've stayed in hotels all over the world from the Hotel Jellyfish in Nepal ($1 a night) to the Waldorf Astoria in New York and I think what elevates a good hotel into a great hotel is the quality of the staff. At Moffat House the staff are exceptional. Every staff member we've met has been friendly and helpful. Even our dog has been fussed over by the staff. It all felt very welcoming.
We had a very pleasant, relaxing time time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moffat House Hotel.
This perfectly renovated home is located in the center of the quaint town of Moffat, which in turn is set in the midst of beautiful rolling hills perfect for hiking and exploring. We found the host John to be a gracious, welcoming gentleman who was both entertaining and a great cook! The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The accommodations were perfect, both comfortable and clean and we'd definitely stay at Kirkview House again if in Moffat.
Really first class accommodation with a high end finish. Lots of little extras included to give a really special feel. Good selection of quality cooked food and well kept ales. Great location in the High Street with easy access to the town. Friendly owners and staff. A lovely place to stay, close to the motorway for a stopover or to explore the area. We have stayed at most of the hotels in Moffat over the years and this is as nice as it comes.
My advice to anyone travelling around the Moffat area is to look no further. Probably the best B&B I've stayed at. Everything was first class, from the coffee and cake on arrival, to the terrific variety and quality of the breakfast. Bradley and Ron were the perfect hosts, unobtrusive but available, and their attention to detail would put many supposedly superior hotels to shame. How they do it at the price is beyond me.
The room was a good size, very high ceilings, the bathroom looked recently renovated and was very clean and new. The hotel was a short walk to Moffat town centre where we could visit the local shops. Very friendly reception knew who we were as soon as we arrived, and when we needed extra toiletries they were happy to oblige. A delicious breakfast in the morning was the cherry on the cake.
The family who run the hotel go above and beyond to make you welcome and the hotel itself is quirky and historically interesting - the building, the photographs and the memorabelia. We enjoyed experiencing the Zimbabwean food and if we had had a motorbike I think we would have jumped for joy! Excellent location on the main street in Moffat and the lottery ticket was a very nice idea too!
A lovely hotel in the heart of Moffat, our room had a separate sitting room with a large TV, the bedroom was a good size with plenty of storage and a good sized bathroom. We ate in the bar/restaurant one night and there was plenty of choice with daily specials and the food was delicious. Same with the breakfast, the full was great quality and well cooked.
The breakfast was superb. With a choice of fruit or cereal to start with and yoghurt. Followed by a full cooked plate. Very tasty sausages. Toast with locally produced jam and good coffee. Really friendly and welcoming. Good stop off for travelling to and from Scotland. Moffat hills to be explored along with an interesting town centre.
The property was very homely and the hosts were lovely.
We had breakfast at the property each morning and the home cooking was delicious.
The room itself was very spacious and the bathroom was massive!
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and informative about the area.
I would definitely recommend this B&B to a friend!
Quiet location but close to the centre of Moffatt for shopping. Very good amenities, parking directly outside the house on the drive and lovely to have a welcome basket waiting for us with fresh eggs, oat cakes, biscuits and milk. Very comfortable bed and lovely crisp clean bed linen.
The hotel is very central to everything and had plenty of parking options. It was cosy and clean. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. I’d definitely go back and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Cancelled booking within hours via email while dtivining to them, notice on door & alternative accommodation had to be sought. Don't book this hotel, DO BOOK MOFFATT HOUSE, slightly pricier but fabulous & we'll worth the extra pennies xx
We stayed in the superior room, it was huge! The bathroom was amazing with a roll top bath and walk in shower, it felt like a 4/5 star hotel (with bunkbeds) We would definitely recommend this place for families and definitely stay again.
lovely staff, excellent food. Breakfast fantastic, amazing tasting sausages which were local. first time staying at this hotel but always eat there when visiting Moffat. would definitely stay there again. Nice double bedroom.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a good stop-off when driving from South of England up to the North of Scotland. The free car park is conveniently round the back of the hotel.
located in an busy downtown ish area with a good amount of restaurants and bars around. we didn’t use the facilities or even the restaurant at the hotel, but the staff did seem nice.
A great stopover in Moffat on our drive up to Scotland. The room and bathroom were spacious and well equipped. John made us feel at home and made a lovely breakfast.
