Jill and all her staff where very friendly and welcoming with great communication/helpfulness throughout my stay. Beautiful well presented/clean room with great facilities right in the heart of Pickering centre itself with all that offers. Secure parking at the rear was a delight to use and most welcome to store my car. Great well cooked breakfast on both mornings I stayed served with a welcoming smile and absolutely wonderful Italian restaurant (Figaro's) on the opposite side of a small village square was superb for my evening meal. Many thanks for providing such a great stay.

We stayed in Thornton Le Dale a couple of miles outside.
We stayed in Thornton Le Dale a couple of miles outside. This location is ideal in that it is within easy reach of most local attractions and also the coast. Plenty of pubs, cafes and independent shops.

Nice little market town with plenty of places to eat in the evenings, even in the winter. It is a good centre for visiting other places nearby and it has the main attraction of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Clean tidy and relaxing.
Clean tidy and relaxing. The birds at the pond were lovely to see. Even saw a kingfisher. Hot tub was very nice and they even turned up the temperature to meet our preference. The hot tub was checked and attended to promptly ever day of our stay. I know Pickering very well as my daughters lives there. We used the site as a place to relax and be with my family after loosing my brother few weeks before. My husband had also retired that weekend so we wanted to be close to our family. All our needs were met but could have done with few more cooking dishes and trays as we did not want to go out to eat. Would recommend the site to others.

Such a beautiful part of the country. The town itself is great just to have a good walk around. But you are close to other locations eg. Whitby. To really enjoy in my opinion one of the best locations in England. Excellent for walkers, photography ect

Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction.
Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction. The stops are interesting and mostly independent! Parking is plentiful! Pickering is a fabulous base to explore the moors! Just 20 minutes to Whitby, 20 miles to York. Plenty of places to eat, lovely cafes and pubs! Don’t forget to visit the Castle. Scarborough is a 30 minute drive. People in the town are very friendly and the shops are very welcoming of dogs. Pickering is a real gem of a town! Flamingo Land theme park is about 10 mins from Pickering.

The purpose of our visit was to visit the Bangers and Cash Auction House, and to visit there memorable museum in Thornton le Dale. Pickering was a nice place. We went out of season so it was quiet and only went for two days. Ate at a Indian restaurant which was recommended to us.
The apartment was exceptional in terms of comfort, cleanliness, facilities and location. Pickering is an extremely sedate and soothing place to be with its abundance of independent and characterful retailers/traders. You're nudging against the Yorkshire Moors and are an enjoyable car journey away from Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. A stop off at Ravenscar is highly recommended if you enjoy rural coastal sights, which has a seal colony located there who are best enjoyed from a respectfully unintrusive distance.
Really liked the place. All communication before hand was spot on . Accurate and very helpful. Once we arrived we moved straight in, the lodge was very comfortable and cosy. All the basics were there cooking facilities, cutlery, plates etc, iron and board etc etc. On the Saturday we walked into Pickering, there is a footpath all the way from Wrelton into Pickering, but a handy bus service also in and out of town. On our return we had our, excellent, evening meal in the local village pub.
i had breakfast . only scrambled egg and toast but very tasty very well presented and nice n hot . the room was very modern and clean with lots ofvroom and plenty places to store my clothes . the facilities in the room were top class . its the best place of its type i have ever stayed in , in this country. i was very pleasantly pleased on arrival and had a thoroughly relaxed and comfortable stay . i will be back to visit pickering again and will book my accomodation in the black swan .
Everything was excellent, Parking was great with ample room, tucked away off the small road behind the property. Location is fantastic a short walk and your in the centre of Pickering. The house and garden were beautiful very clean and welcoming. Breakfast was great plenty of choice a good size and was delicious. Our Hosts were amazing nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful . The whole experience was awesome and would highly recommend 17 Burgate.
We loved being able to use the fireplace. We were in The Tack Room and it's a very well laid out cottage. It's comfortable, homely and cosy; perfect for a couple to stay in.
It's walking distance to everything in Pickering and it's a relatively short drive to York, Whitby and other coastal towns. You can also get to Dalby Forest and other lovely places pretty easily for a nice walk which we liked.
Beautiful looking hotel, great location for access to Pickering & gateway to the North York Moors. Close to the North York Moors railway station. The staff were very friendly, there is a bar and eating facilities onsite and lovely walled garden at the rear to enjoy a drink. The room was clean and well equipped. Plenty of free parking onsite.
Gorgeous hotel wonderful setting. The garden is magnificent ( complete with wildlife. We were having a drink on the terrace and a hedgehog walked by).
The restaurant is really lovely as is the food.
The staff are the best you could possibly hope for, friendly, helpful and all smiling.
It's a lovely lovely hotel and I didn't want to leave!
the breakfast was ok although on one of them the sausage was on the turn, i was disappointed as i thought we were in walking distance to pickering, but it was 10 miles away and being that the kitchen was not open for evening meals, and the nearest restaurants were fully booked, it spoilt the break
The cottage was lovely! Quirky and the added Christmas decorations made it cosy and festive.
A personal touch of tea, coffee, biscuits etc was lovely!
It was in a perfect area, we went to Pickering for the Santa express with our little boy and we could walk.
Lovely quiet location yet only a thirty minute walk or five minute drive from Pickering. Secure parking right outside the property. The Stables was an ideal base for exploring the area. A light, airy and comfortable property and a very relaxing stay.
Telephoned owner a couple of days before stay. He was very helpful informing me bread, milk, biscuits would be provided for our arrival. Perfectly located in Pickering. Accommodation perfectly adequate for a two night stay by 3 motorcyclists.
Great location near the centre of Pickering yet with a big, peaceful, and well- maintained garden to look out on. Good spacious rooms and layout suited our needs perfectly, especially the big round dining table adjacent to the kitchen.
Very nice hotel in beautiful location
Lovely large garden next to a paddock - met Bert the friendly horse!
Room very good
Also has a nice little bar and we had an excellent dinner in the airy dining room
The location was ideal for my visit to friends living in Pickering. Sarah & Chris were very welcoming & attentive. The breakfast was good quality & the quantity set me up for the day!
