Whitby is such a great place to have a short summer break.
Whitby is such a great place to have a short summer break. Getting there from Newcastle airport was more than a 3-hour adventure. However, it was worth it in the end. The Abbey, 199 steps St. Marys and the little streets are picturesque, to say the least. The magpie cafe and the Fishermans wife are great places for fish and chips. We stayed in the town, and never needed a taxi at anytime, everything is within walking distance. We did travel on bus the 4 or five miles to Robin Hood's bay for one of the days, and to be honest this is must- as it so near.Wil - Scored 1010

Full of character friends place with lots of other attractions close by such as Runswick bay, Robin Hoods bay, Moors, historic buildings, excellent Museum for a damp day, so many extras the list is near endless.

We love Whitby, have been coming for years.
We love Whitby, have been coming for years. Hubby’s favourite fishing haunt! Still trying to find that elusive ground level apartment for two on church street! (We have tried many!) What a beautiful seaside place. There is a lots to see and do and enjoy fish and chips by the sea, or coffee, cake and an ice cream ...you can even go out and catch your own fish if you prefer or a short boat trip 😊.DuncanAustralia - Scored 1010
Lots of things to do and see.
Lots of things to do and see. Plenty of choices for food and drink on both sides of the river. Bus service very good for visiting other local villages. Only downside - not much cleaning up after dogs - not nice
