Annascaul was a lovely place to stay. Not only is the scenery incredible with lovely walking trails, people were friendly. It was much less frantic than Dingle. Definitely a place to visit and stay!

Stopped overnight during a motorcycle trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. I was interested to see Tom Crean's pub and the memorial to him across the road. The day's ride there around the coast from Galway was truly spectacular and Annascaul was a charming, comfortable and interesting place to rest over. Had great food in one pub and a few pints in The South Pole Inn which was full of great photos and memorabilia. The Tom Crean memorial across the road was a moving place to be, alone in the late evening sunlight. It is a quiet town with a lot less of the tourist hustle and bustle of some of the other Kerry towns. Highly reccomended

The house is beautiful and the host extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are not en-suite, which might not suit everyone. But the price is very reasonable, and we really enjoyed staying there. It's a home from home.

It's a village and the local people are friendly and will chat to one o the street or in the two main bars. There isn't a great choice of restaurants so one is confined to The South Pole Inn. Lovely staff, but fried fast food only. There's a tiny chipper whose fish in batter I can recommend. Annascaul is a decent base to explore the area and for me, Castlegregory is a nearby gem. There's a tiny beach near Annascaul itself, deserted and gorgeous. Camp boasts another lovely beach. There's a delightful forest walk from the south Pole Inn and I'd recommend a trip to Lake Annascaul, but bring walking shoes and pray to dont meet a car coming towards you on the narrow, winding Road to and from this silent, glorious place.

Great location to access the Dingle Peninsula.

Great location to access the Dingle Peninsula. If you are into hiking and adventure then you'll love the history of this town. It's the birthplace of Tom Crean, the Antarctic Explorer. The South Pole Inn is a wonderful tribute to this unsung hero. His grave is located about 2km from the town if you want to pay respects.
