The owner welcomed us. Big smile and it felt like she was so happy to see us. I requested a later checkout due to an online conference engagement. No problem. The dinner and breakfast.... her husband is the chef.... wow!!! This should be marketed as a fine dining restaurant in its own right. What a pleasant gem!!

This country house is elegantly appointed with an inviting country atmosphere. Each guest room has a seating area, satellite TV and a work desk. There are complimentary tea-and-coffee making facilities in each room. The private bathrooms are fitted with a bath and shower and come with free toiletries and a hairdryer. All I can say is WOW, awesome place will not stay anywhere else the next time I travel to Howick. Service was the best. The dirt road is a small price to pay for what You get. The food is THE BEST!!!!

Wendy’s Country Lodge, Mtubatuba, situated in the heart of Zululand, is your gateway to exploring nature with our Zululand Adventures guided tours, available daily to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Parks, iSimangaliso Wetland Park and St Lucia. Not exaggerating: This truly was the best accommodation of our whole holiday, in every perspective. Nice and spacy rooms with comfy beds, beautiful garden with outside pool, great common areas like living room and bar to meet with other people and fantastic dinner. But most importantly the hospitality of the owners, Jenny and Gavin, was absolutely amazing. They took us in like we were part of their family. They are taking very good care of their guests, preparing the perfect meals even taking into account any complicated allergies, sharing their stories and we had a lot of fun together. I would recommend Wendy’s country lodge to everybody coming to South Africa and this will be the first place I book when I’m visiting South Africa again. When staying at the bed and breakfast, guests can use private entrance. warm welcoming staff. The owners Gill and hubby were exceptionally great, even willing to give us a tour around the property. High standard elegant interior and excellent top quality breakfast. oh and not to forget the view sheeeesh. My partner and I are definitely going back there next time 😊😄
