I was scammed.
I was scammed. I don’t know why booking.com allowed these crooks to scam people that house is an abandoned property. Phone number not going through, hooting by the gate no response. I’m so disappointed that I’ve lost my money for nothing.

The roads around and in Pietermaritzburg are sadly not too good and clearly maintenance.
We did not visit any other places except for the Sagewood Cafe where we met with a family member who lives in PMB. This proved to be a good choice too.

We loved the hotel — the style and interior are beautiful, and the lounge, restaurant, bar, and reception all have a lovely, welcoming ambience.
Unfortunately, our experience was let down by a few maintenance issues, namely faulty air conditioners and cracked bathroom sinks. There was also significant noise within the hotel throughout the night. While we appreciate that we stayed over New Year’s Eve, we feel that reception and security should enforce reasonable time limits to manage rowdy guests and ensure all patrons can rest comfortably.

Clean swimming pool, hot water and plenty bathrooms depending on how many rooms you have booked, kitchen essentials. Braai area n fire woods
You need to bring everything that you need because it is not near the city

The place is so quite. The flip side is that its hard to move around if you don't have your own car.
Not far from Itala Game Reserve. A place to be especially if you want to be away from noisy towns or location

The place is pleasant, but Room 3 that was allocated to me it's not great and not comfortable. Bed linen too old and dull. Pillows a disaster. 3 adults supplied with one bath towel and one hand towel. claustrophobic

And the staff cleans where we will only see please tell to clean under beds we found used Condoms but your place was a great accommodation its just there n there it can be fixed.

Visited Hilton for a water polo tournament and really enjoyed the town. There are plenty of places to eat and enough to keep yourself entertained. At the same time, it’s quiet and restful — perfect for a relaxing break.

Lovely views and clean room, this place has great potential but is unfortunately overpriced for what you're getting. Featuring poor communication via whatsapp with hosts. Nowhere decent nearby to have dinner. No wifi in the room. No signal either. Worst DSTV package that is available. Magazines in the room from 2017 and beyond. Eating area's tables are dusty and covered in gecko poop. Bar area used as storage. Fire place non functional. Pool is nice, but jacuzzi empty. Garden is overgrown.

Pietermaritzburg, once an attractive, clean town, with numerous historic buildings and home to a number of well-established schools, is looking shabby and uncared for.
I have no idea why anyone would want to head there - we were there for a tennis tournament - and couldn't wait to get on our way and back home!
