An historic and vibrant town, chock-full of excellent bars, cafes and restaurants. Rarely have we seen so many establishments. Covid has closed some of the historic buildings and the Goya museum is shut for a year for major restoration. The tourist office was first-class, so helpful. Myriad shops of every kind in gorgeous little sidestreets, a wonderful covered market selling mouthwatering meats, charcuterie, cheese, spices, wine etc. and open every day. Because of bad weather, the medieval-style boat was moored up. We can't wait to go back.

A small pretty town by the river - easy to walk around. The market was great value and while out and about we met lots of friendly people. Castres is a bit off the tourist trail which we enjoyed. However there are limited attractions. The Goya museum would be of interest if you like religious paintings but the museum is not large. We went walking in the nearby Sidobre area where there are several walks to see unusual rock formations.
Overall an interesting small town to spend a few days.

The city centre - beautiful, with loads of surprise little squares and fountains everywhere. Lots of good eating places in Place Jean Jaures. A visit to the Goya Museum was very rewarding. Parking tip - park for free at the Bus Station (next to the Gare SNCF) and take a free bus into town.

A cute town with interesting history, and a lovely art museum of Spanish masterworks. Located close to Toulouse, but not really on tourist itineraries, so a nice quiet stopover if going to or from the Toulouse airport.

The city was a lovely surprise, historic properties and a nice relaxed feel.
Being on the edge of the Nature Reserve, it has many sites to see in surrounding towns and villages. Castres has many places to eat, especially away from the town square.
Very nice hotel We were cycling so it was lovely to have the pool area to relax in post our ride. We had been upgraded so the room size was great and I particularly loved the NUXE toiletries. Breakfast was extremely varied with lots of different options. It is 15 mins to the town centre....but we saw the hotel centre hotels when we walked around and I valued the space and pool area more here than being bang in town. We particularly liked having tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge.....but then, we're British!
What an interesting little hotel. Every inch is fascinating and the hotel is a destination in itself. My room was modern with all amenities you could want or need. One entire wall with a mural of Venice (which bears some resemblance to the homes on the canal in Castres). I believe every room is different but I suspect equally charming. The service was great, I had trouble finding the hotel and they actually came out to find me when I was stuck down the street and didn’t know how to turn my car around :). Highly recommend a stay here!
The hotel is quite pretty, with an interior patio from which guests climb or ride the elevator to their rooms. The reception desk was almost always attended. Staff were generally very helpful . The room, on the 3rd floor, was spacious and pleasant with useful furniture and closet space. The bathroom was in the room, and it was well-kept. We chose not to purchase the breakfast, as there were many nearby cafe's and bakeries. The hotel is well-situated for any walking tour of Castres.
What a hidden gem! The Manor House is about 300 years old and the grounds are stunning. The room was huge with a very comfortable double bed, tea and coffee making facilities and cable TV, to name a few. The best bit is that the owner will cook you an evening meal which is delicious. I’ve stayed in four and five star hotels that can’t compare with this place. Go there!
When arriving you need a code to get in so make sure you have it if you don’t have phone access. Luckily we had a sim to be able to phone. The room was adequate with a view to the street. Could do with extra pillows as always a problem in Europe. Owner was very accommodating and loaned me a kettle for my morning cuppa. Very central secure parking at a price
The location was perfect. Easy walking distance to museums, shops, and excellent restaurants. The hotel has a deal with several parking garages in the neighborhood with greatly reduced parking rates. The decor and ambient of the hotel adds to the charm of staying there. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Fabulous quirky hotel. Beautiful lobby. Our room was very spacious with a very large and comfortable bed. A lovely bathroom. We could also take our dog. it was excellent value for money. We had dinner and breakfast which were also great.

Spacious room, well located in the city centre of Castres with easy access to the main attractions.
Quiet hotel and good value for money
WiFi also works well if you need to work from your room
Awesome staff that took promptly care of the problem and fixed us a better room. Said rooms were original and far from the typical, boring hotel.
Location is also one of the very best in town.
The owner was very nice and the apartment is a great find. Spacious, close to Castres Centre and fully equipped by everything what needs for a longer stay.
