An historic and vibrant town, chock-full of excellent bars, cafes and restaurants. Rarely have we seen so many establishments. Covid has closed some of the historic buildings and the Goya museum is shut for a year for major restoration. The tourist office was first-class, so helpful. Myriad shops of every kind in gorgeous little sidestreets, a wonderful covered market selling mouthwatering meats, charcuterie, cheese, spices, wine etc. and open every day. Because of bad weather, the medieval-style boat was moored up. We can't wait to go back.
A small pretty town by the river - easy to walk around. The market was great value and while out and about we met lots of friendly people. Castres is a bit off the tourist trail which we enjoyed. However there are limited attractions. The Goya museum would be of interest if you like religious paintings but the museum is not large. We went walking in the nearby Sidobre area where there are several walks to see unusual rock formations. Overall an interesting small town to spend a few days.
The city centre - beautiful, with loads of surprise little squares and fountains everywhere. Lots of good eating places in Place Jean Jaures. A visit to the Goya Museum was very rewarding. Parking tip - park for free at the Bus Station (next to the Gare SNCF) and take a free bus into town.
A cute town with interesting history, and a lovely art museum of Spanish masterworks. Located close to Toulouse, but not really on tourist itineraries, so a nice quiet stopover if going to or from the Toulouse airport.
Castres is a lovely picturesque city with lovely scenery and buildings and parks to see. It is ideal for a weekend break for a getaway and the weather is lovely. You could have a nice romantic weekend here.
The city was a lovely surprise, historic properties and a nice relaxed feel. Being on the edge of the Nature Reserve, it has many sites to see in surrounding towns and villages. Castres has many places to eat, especially away from the town square.

The hotel was excellent value for money and we couldn't of asked for a nicer hotel owner to stay with. We had difficulties getting transport from Toulouse airport so Francoise even picked us up ! The pool area, breakfast and overall amenities were excellent for our weekend away for a friends wedding and we highly recommend here to anyone.
Castres
Beautiful room, very quiet location, yet close to Castres for sightseeing or dinner. Jean welcomed us and explained the house rules. We had dinner in town, returning to have one of the best night's sleep, very comfortable bed, in fact we overslept our breakfast time. The grounds are lovely and we could have easily spent longer.
Verry good service, the dinner top (our son is cyliako) food without gluten without problems, for us perfect. The breakfest genial. This hotel always again !!! The owner and the hotel personal verry friendly !!!!
Everything was spot on including the free breakfast. It is further from the centre of Castres than your information described making it necessary to use the car. An excellent hotel with pleasant staff.
Awesome staff that took promptly care of the problem and fixed us a better room. Said rooms were original and far from the typical, boring hotel. Location is also one of the very best in town.
Location was perfect and the hotel was ideal for what we required as it was a last minute booking due to a cancellation as we arrived in Castres due to no electricity at our original booking
Great location. Very clean and good value. Friendly welcome. A good sized family room. Castres is a nice town.
Fantastic place and service. Beautifully decorated hotel and rooms. Thank you Phillip! Highly recommend!!!
