It is a wonderful experience to spend a night in a historical building. The accommodations were surprisingly comfortable and the staff was top notch. The beds were excellent--I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about a safe space during a ghastly war.

The most pleasant stay and an all round wonderful experience. The property and room had so much character, was very homely and so spacious! The facilities were brilliant, Chantel and Peter the most welcoming and attentive hosts and very responsive. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

we got upgraded and had a water bed and an outside patio. it’s too bad we weren’t staying longer. we had breakfast delivered to our room and it was amazing. very nice!

Also about an hour from Calais ferry port. Great location for a short break or overnight stop heading to or from the Uk. Would make a great base for longer stay to explore North West Belgium and World War 1 Cemeteries and Historical sites.

There was an issue with the smoke alarms which was quickly resolved and explained and the breakfast and dining was all part of the great experience. The Rooms are named after Belgium Beer which is quirky and the quiet and central location makes this an ideal base. Parking is on the road which you have to pay for but this isn't expensive and there's plenty of availability. Would absolutely return and recommend.JefreySolo traveler

I come a bit after 9 pm, despite the fact that the restaurant was closed and the owner was sick after back surgery, he kindly prepared a divinely delicious salad for me because I was late for dinner at the restaurant.
