DJANGO Hostel & Lounge in Tanabe provides adults-only accommodation with a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar. This is a hostel with amazing value and hospitality. The facilities are new, clean and super comfortable - easily one of the best dormitories I've ever stayed in. The bar is a very nice plus: beautifully decorated, great music and good prices. Yoichi the owner is very nice and knows his trade. Plus, impossible to get a better location if you're planning to do the Kumano Kodo. Totally recommended!

The guesthouses is located in a quiet area of Minabe amidst plum orchards. It is a renovated traditional house of a plum farmer, smells wonderfully of wood and is very peaceful. I had the best stay imaginable here, thanks to the friendly owner, the incredible house and the kind locals living in Minabe.

Okinawa Minshuku Kariyushi offers cosy rooms with free WiFi access just a 4-minute walk from Shirahama Beach. I really felt at home here! Yes, there are minimal amenities, but it has a really cozy feeling to it. My room was quite spacious and very affordable. The staff is very kind and helpful, the manager recommended the best onsen to me, and knew which hot springs were tattoo friendly. He spoke English very well. It is a great location too, only a few minutes walk to the beach, and very close to the convenience store. I'm really happy I stayed here :)
