The room I had was much larger than I expected. The hotel is fully renovated, and the lighting mechanism are spectacular, both in the room and the very wide super well illuminated hallways. Other hotels should follow suit. Huge bathroom (toilet area separate from the shower and sink, beware, if that is something that bothers you); the shower is cavernous, fantastic.
Breakfast was amazing, everything from salmon to cereal, breads, pastries, you name it.
Staff was very attentive and helpful with directions, how to get to a bus station with several options, etc.
Visit Graz, stay here, you will be pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to go back!

We didn't like the look of the "spaceship "Museum, it was out of place with the Baroque architecture of the old town. Loved the old town. We were disappointed to find most restaurants closed the kitchen at 5 pm. As we were in mid-May we felt more should have been open. A couple of days is enough to cover most sights. It was great to see no Islamic minettes spoiling the old town cityscape,

We spent most of our time walking around the city.
We spent most of our time walking around the city. There are lovely buildings with intricate architecture in places. I would definitely recommend a walk in the Stadtpark. I recommend the climb up to Schlossberg, the view is lovely!
We had a wonderful meal at Restaurant Sclossberg, apart from the food , the view is spectacular.
Another place with even better food is Ginko, where I had the best food in a very long time. It serves vegan and vegetarian food, but I would imagine that everybody will like the delicious food on offer.

Graz is nice, probably a day is enough in the off-season but I expect you'd need 2 days when it's summer time and busier because of queues etc. Buy a 24 or 48 hour pass for Museums is worth the expense.

Ideal for you if you like historic towns with lots of landmarks, local food, some interesting shops, museums, a castle hill with a view. Our fave places were the old quarters, the old department store interior, and the view from its top cafe, the cathedral (heard practising for organ concert!!), beautiful bookshop Morawa with cafe on top, Castle hill...
If walking gets too much, use the funicular to get on castle hill and 24h bus/tram ticket to take you anywhere within city. We tasted Austrian food in Franziskaner Quarter (my fave part), vegetarian food in a more modern cafe and finally we ate at a Greek place (good value for money 20 euros per person).
We would avoid visiting in very cold or very hot weather.
We slept here for a night last week after Formula 1's Austrian GP. Everything was pretty straightforward: we found the key in the small box on the apartment door. Even though we couldn't find the e-mail with the instructions (I may have lost it), the host was quick to provide this info via the phone. The area is quiet and confortable, and the temperature in the apartment was perfect for a summer night.
Would recommend if you're seeking a stay for a (few) day(s) in Graz and are on a budget.
We had a very wonderful stay at Gasthof Lind-Platzl. It is an old hotel that has been beautifully restored. We loved the many interesting design details. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom, comfortable beds, and in the morning we enjoyed a hearty, tasty breakfast. We also ate dinner at the hotel - excellent. Highly recommended for its quality, personal attention, and location. Parking is available very nearby.
the Glockenspiel restaurant on the ground floor was great. The apartment experience itself was the worst I've had in over 30 years of travel to Austria (I go there for business several times a year). They truly couldn't give a single care about the customer. Also, note that the "Glockenspiel" in the name means that you are in a bell tower and the bell sounds outside the window around the clock. Nice.
The room was very comfortable, warm and new. When booking you have to keep in mind that the hotel is a aprox. 30 min walk to the city centre (that is not some negative, just a FYI). We parked on a public parking spot and were lucky because we paid only 4 hours of parking (the public space is free on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays).
The hosts are lovely people who just want you to have a good time and are available for every question you might come up with. We were greeted with a warm, clean apartment in the cold Austrian winter with wine and chocolates as compliment.
Location is great, just 10-15mins away if you walk and a couple of tram stops either way.
A great location, just 3 bus stops from the Graz train station. Just a five minute walk to the center of the Old Town Square and steps to the Schlossberg. Excellent restaurant in hotel. Very personable staff. Across the street from the Lendplatz outdoor market, with several restaurants. Very reasonable price.
Basically hotel rooms that they squeeze four people into, but high quality. Just like Meininger, they set up the two single beds right next to each other, which is awkward when you're sleeping next to a stranger, so I always move them apart.
Very modern.
Large communal area in the lobby.
Gratz is a beautiful city and the part where the hotel is situated is really nice. We stayed in Haus Sonne and its garden is like from some kind of movie - very romantic :) Our room had a nice enterance to the garden and we could use a table for breakfast outside. I loved it :)
We loved everything about the facility, central location nearer to restaurants and shopping and all places of interest.
We liked the clean rooms, towels, kitchenette.
We liked the small town atmosphere though Graz is the second largest city in Austria.
Quirky place very close to the centre. Room was nice, breakfast was good, staff were very friendly and very efficient. The restaurant was always busy with Austrians, a good sign. The food was good, very well priced and plentiful.
The breakfast was exceptional. Room was clean. It’s located right next to the train station. The hotel’s warning signs all have humor, I wish I had taken a photo of the regular do not disturb sign at the room door.
Excellent small touches: great candies and fine water given daily, great decor, fine breakfast. We even used and enjoyed the sauna in the sister hotel since Wiesler’s was under repair.
Perfect location to visit the town. Everything is in walking distance and there is a garage beneath the museum, which is only a few meters from the hotel.
The hotel is very modern and nicely decorated. The beds are big and comfortable. The breakfast buffet has a lot of choices.
Great hotel to stay in Graz!
