The Abbey on Main offers visitors to the Huon Valley a luxury self contained accommodation experience and is conveniently located in the centre of Franklin. This heritage listed property provides accommodation for up to four guests and has an open plan living space with separate lounge, formal dining, reading areas, a fully appointed kitchen with laundry and private outdoor gardens. Abbey on Main overlooks the beautiful Huon River and is a short walk from local restaurants and cafes.
I relocated to beautiful Tasmania in March 2017, but have previously hosted short term accommodation businesses in Queensland for more than seven years. I was attracted to the lifestyle in Tasmania and the wonderful produce available in the Huon Valley region. Your hosts - Gavin and Peter are generally available on site to assist with local information, transport timetables and other details of 'What's On' in the Huon Valley
Only 35 minutes from Hobart, The Abbey on Main is centrally located in the small historic town of Franklin overlooking the beautiful Huon River. In 2016 Franklin celebrated its 180th anniversary and is now a popular tourist village, as well as a must see destination for self-drive visitors. Local Attractions and Activities include: • The Wooden Boat Centre, Franklin; • Huon River Cruises; • Hastings Cave and Thermal Springs; • The Tahune Air-walk; • Ida Bay Historic Railway; • Hartz Mountains National Park; • Frank's Cider Bar and Cafe; • Osteria's@ Petty Sessions - Italian restaurant; • Cinnamon & Cherry Cafe; • The Old Bank restaurant at Geeveston; • Visit our local orchards and berry farms; or, • Try our local produce at nearby restaurants
