Very accommodating of our special needs
The resort is peaceful but that is probably because of the time of year ( early Dec) and there were hardly any guests. The room was a great size and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating. Very close to the beach.
The hotel & facilities are very tired and in need of repair and the surrounds need a good clean up. There are limited or no dining options at the resort. The nearest cafe at the surf club, Lighthouse caf, is hard to get a booking and the staff need a huge attitude shift... Very rude and abrasive.
Clean comfortable bed large room quiet close to the beach
The stairs and not enough milk
Convenience to beach, staff pleasant, spaciousness
Our family stayed in the resort recently for one night only and I would say that the value for money was good. Nothing more, nothing less. It was a great location of the hotel with easy access to the beach. The hotel's pool area was greatly appreciated by our children.
I still believe that charging for wi-fi is old-fashioned, but I guess that's the situation in Australia. Neither was breakfast included in the hotel fee, but on the other hand you could easily have prepared that yourself or, as we did, stop at a recommended café for brekkie.
The room was quite private and we could hardly hear the neighbours at all.
The man who checked is in was very abrupt and a bit rude throughout the entire time he was serving us. They had tried to deduct the full amount from my debit card two weeks in advance (which I wasn't aware they would do), and as I was unaware I did not have the funds in that account. He told me he sent me an email (which I never received) so I should have followed it up. If it was such a problem he should have followed up with 'another' email/call, instead of being rude upon our arrival. Also, the room had only two cups, two mugs and two teaspoons for cutlery and crockery. No microwave either. I travel a lot for work and have never come across such poor customer service or minimal room 'supplies' for lack of a better word. Also for a 'beach resort' the beach was not even in sight. Will definitely NOT be staying here again or recommending it to anyone.
Omlettes were very nice.
Pool was not so clean. Breakfast slack. Food overpriced so as such poor value for money.
The rooms are very spacious and extremely well designed. Ours had a private balcony overlooking the wonderful gardens at the center of the resort. Congrats to the Chef our meals there were superb.
No refund. When we found out about the booking date which was less than half an hour after booking, a day and a half before the date we were turned away with a none refund or partial refund policy.
It was a very good break. The beach was close. I liked the pool.
The spa wasnt on due to a very busy day with a wedding and breakfast being made for everyone. Poolside mattress covers were a bit tired.
Great value and on site restaurant excellent!
i liked how close it was to the beaches
how hot the water went in the spa and in the shower, needs to be hotter, the pillows were uncomfortable aswell as the bed,and more dusting and cleaning
It's a short walk to Lighthouse Beach. The pool was big, it was deep so if a non swimmer stay close to the sides.
I was very disappointed with the Deluxe Queen room. It was far from deluxe. There was so much dust in the wardrobes we didn't hang our clothes up. The bathroom was tiny. The shower door was broken and rust gathered around its base. There were midgets as a result of a broken screen. A door connecting our room to the room next door meant no sleep and I mean no sleep. Every word, every sound, every movement clearly audible. The doors to the rooms are paper thin so cars parked and passing outside sounded as if they were in the room. No cutlery in the room though kettle and toaster provided. When I rang reception to enquire if it was possible to get cutlery I was spoken to abruptly before the receptionist hung up. A combined shampoo and shower gel is attached to the bathroom wall and soap unit attached to the sink. There is no separate shampoo or conditioner. There is no conditioner at all so if staying there and need conditioner stock up. There were cigarette butts in the sauna. These were there over the two days we were there showing the sauna was not cleaned. There was no shower handle on the hot tap in the spa area so only cold showers were possible therefore. The gym consisted of a cross trainer and excerxise bike, both of which stood outside the door of the sauna, and beside the spa. Children were not supervised in the pool or spa and no CCTV or staff were on hand to monitor this which I found scary. The daybeds were tired and hand ripped coverings. As a result of our stay here I was reduced to tears due to the impossibility of sleep and the abruptness of staff. These facilities are far from what they are described. A nightmare and I wouldn't wish a stay there on my worst enemy. We didn't use the bar or dining area due to the rudeness of staff so can't comment. It's a fair distance from the town. It is seriously overpriced for what is offered.
Good location close to beaches
Probably a bit pricey
Great size room. Very clean. Would recommend it as close to beach and inviting. Lovely setting with cosy restaurant.
Single beds not comfortable
Location to beach and surf club
There was a toaster provided in the room, but no crockery or cutlery to use with it.
The website said there was a microwave but there wasn't. I know it my seem silly but traveling with a 10 month old it made it quite difficult.
Nice green area and location
We had to wash the dishes before checking out which was a new experience for us, being in many other hotels and resorts, including overseas. Sauna was not cleaned well, with spider webs around !!!
Room was clean, staff friendly & food excellent
The bed and pillows were old & uncomfortable
We are local and only stayed at Ballina Beach Resort as we were attending a party at the resort and didn't want to drive home. Location near the beach is nice. The room was spacious. Restaurant food was excellent.
Very uncomfortable bed. Overpriced when compared to other properties. Have stayed in way better for much less.
The manager was not helpful and very rude. We've told all our family and friends to never stay there.
Friendly staff and beautiful setting
Very comfortable room, spacious and clean. Great location.
Light and airy room
People can smoke on their balconies which makes all rooms smoking rooms. This is awful to have smoke in your hotel room.
We were heading for Byron bay, but as it was a weekend we were finding it difficult to find an apartment and by chance ended up at Ballina, so glad we did. It's a little gem, not so busy as Byron....beautiful beaches, lovely resort and a short drive from Byron bay.
