Charming small town. Known for wines and Argentinian-style steaks. Many companies offer Winery tours. In our experience (three times) those are designed to drink lots of table wine, but no quality wines. If you really want to taste good wines, arrange to visit any (or all) of the four largest wineries (Aranjuez, Kolberg, Campos de Solana, and La Concepcion) and ask to taste their best wines. You will be surprised how good they are. Don't be afraid to spend a little more. Still a bargain for foreign travelers. You will be disappointed if you take any of the widely publicized "Ruta del Vino" tours, except for the scenery in the cramped vans.
LA Poza del Pato is located in the beautiful Coimata foothills sorrounded by nature. We ended every night looking at hundreds of bright fireflies in the garden, and woke up with singing of birds. A cristaline river and waterfalls are just a couple of minutes from the hotel. Eduardo and Evelin gave us an excellent service prior our arrival and during our stay. I enjoy the company of Mulata and Lisa two very friendly dogs. It was my first time visiting Tarija, but certainly not my last one, and La Poza del Pato has won my heart.
Very nice hotel in a central location, only a few blocks from the main square. The room was clean and we were delighted that they allowed us to check in very early as we had arrived on an overnight bus. The staff were friendly and helpful - they took time to help me activate a local SIM which was much appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good with hot water. The WiFi worked very well for us. Breakfast was served buffet style and was tasty.
Such a beautiful and unique space, and a privilege to have it all to ourselves! It has
Fruit trees, birds, pool, and a beautiful courtyard to relax & unwind.
The breakfast was lovely & the hosts could not have been more helpful;) They gave us tips about the area and our onward travels around Bolivia… even helped us find the right bus & time plus ordered a taxi for us.
Perfect change from the normal hostel/hotel type accommodation
Amazing vibes, the hostel owner is really nice and organizes a lot of events. You get way more than just a stay in the hostel if you stay here. The hostel is very pretty and has great decorations!
I always got invited to lunch or dinner if it was made in the hostel and the people in the hostel give great advice on what to do around in Tarija!
The volunteer staff appeared like they did not want to work. The girl with really curly hair from Argentina and her Argentinian best friend/boyfriend were very lazy and rude. The main guy at the front desk, who seemed like he was from Tarija was super nice though.
It was very hot and I utilized the four swimming pools especially the big one. The rooms were clean with hot and cold water. The free breakfast with fresh fruit was enjoyed everyday. The staff were exceptional! For now this is my favorite hotel in Bolivia 👍
It's a very comfortable apartment next to a great park. Aaron made sure that you will have everything you need and even more than that! From extra kitchen wear, till great tips to explore Tarija and surroundings till a doctor when you get sick!
The place is big enough for a family, clean, modern and has all necessary accessories. we fully recommend to stay here and we will definitely take the flat again when we visit Tarija. Daniela the host is really friendly and helpful.
we loved the hostel. breakfast was great and we booked a great wine tour through the owner. would definitely recommend if you are in Tarija! showers were also super hot and everything was clean as can be!
Great location and super friendly staff. The hotel also has a great gym and spa. Nice pool and facilities. The staff made us feel very welcome and were accommodating.
