We traveled from la Paz to Sucre, the view changed completely! La Paz was crowded and random, Sucre on the contrary was gracious and relaxing, all colonial building and streets, at altitude 2800, it’s much comfortable, the climate is very nice, it’s not turning cold too much after sunset. And the restaurants were much stylish and food tasted better. It’s not really a “ tourist town”, very quiet, we could not find a open travel agent nor money exchange on Sunday, hotel lady suggested us to change money in the supermarket that we finally had money for dinner :)). It’s such a nice city that we decided to stay more time in Sucre.
A nice quiet city, with a lot of colonial architecture, nice city views from the upper parte of town, traditional food and craftwork, a must know place for everyone who is interested in colonial cities that have not yet adopted an actual-futuristic lifestyle
The Museo del Tesoro was one of the best museums I've been to in all of my travels around the world. If you go to Parque Creatácico, be sure to go on the tour which starts at noon and goes right up to the dinosaur tracks.
One of the most beautiful towns of Bolivia. Full of historical sites and museums. Very tourist friendly, with restaurants that cater to foreigners and friendly people. Getting around downtown (ols town) Sucre is easy and most locations are within walking distance. Other nearby sites outside the city, such as the dinosaur footprints, and Glorieta, are easy to reach by taxi or bus. Sucre's climate is very pleasant and one can enjoy hours of relaxation in its many plazas, patios and balconies.
Nice town to be in. Laid back atmosphere. Nice views over this white building town. However, the government should really do something about the exhaust gases of the cars. We skipped some restaurants since the exhaust pipes are at face height and blow right into the restaurants.
Sucre was interesting with friendly locals, lots of backpackers and travelers, restaurants, bars and such services. What I did not like was like all cities - too many motor vehicles downtown especially - creating lots of (air and noise pollution). Better to close off a few streets (at least) - around the center - and have them pedestrian only. This would create a better mood and make it a special place. Why do you need all the cars in the center! Many cities could do this, of course, but I am calling on Sucre to do this if you truly want to improve your city. The place is overbuilt - houses going in on top of more houses. Better to control this and give more room for green areas. There are not enough trees, greenery, parks and other type areas. Instead it seems that uncontrolled development continues. When one gets out and about you will find lots of trash/garbage. The city needs to have a better waste management system. This also needs to be created in the minds and hearts of the people - to take care of your land and not simply dump on it... In many ways, an ugly city. In some ways, a nice city. With time and development, I think it will become uglier unless to look at the best cities worldwide and benchmark yourself after those... The potential and possibility is there, but I doubt you have the will... Prove me wrong...

Great location just a few minutes walk from the central square yet quiet. Very pleasant courtyard, garden and roof terraces, with city and mountain views, for relaxation. The hotel has a quality feel to it. We had a junior suite which was cavernous, had plenty of furniture and a terrace overlooking the garden. It had central heating, but you had to ask reception to turn it on - not a problem. Everything was clean and we got a good breakfast. Not cheap, but value for money. Staff were very courteous and helpful. We were happy with our stay.

It's a great place to stay, only a few minutes away from the main Plaza. The hostel was really quiet, the staff really friendly and if you like animals, you'll love the dog and the cats. The inner area is great to sit and meet fellow travellers and the whole hostel has a nice vibe to it. The breakfast is simple but good (Omelett with bread + butter and jam). And it really is close to the city centre. So it's nice to get around and explore Sucre!

Condor B&B is a very nice place to stay in Sucre. The staff is really friendly and helpful and work hard to keep the property clean and the guests happy. The room we stayed in was spacious and the beds were comfortable. We had a shared bathroom, which was very clean and the shower had hot water. Also, there is a basic communal kitchen. The B&B has two patios where you can relax, as you barely hear any noise from the streets.

We arrived very early after getting a night bus and the security card let us in to wait until the front desk staff arrived. They managed to get a room ready for us by 8am at the extra charge which was so appreciated. The hotel is off the main street down an alley and it really does feel so quiet and peaceful - you forget there's a busy city just outside. Great location. Friendly staff and info on the city provided.

Thomas welcomed us into his amazing house and couldn’t have been more helpful. He provided us with information and helped us to get to grips with Sucre. He told us what we should pay for taxis etc and helped us plan our bus out of Sucre too. The house was beautiful and very traditional. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Cheers Thomas!
