Rob greeted us and was very helpful. Common area on each floor a plus. Food and service was excellent.
Seems a little over priced but I guess that is what you pay in Toronto. We didn't have a tablet in our room. Promised a Queen bed and pretty sure it was a double.
Great food, super service. Wonderful, capable, friendly staff.
Sharp unprotected corner on shelf over desk. Slow drain in sink. Security bolt on door does not lock. Very large inadequate bedside lights; cannot read by them.
Loved the building, the artwork, the elevator, the location, the bikes, the staff' attention to detail. Morning coffeeeeee
Teen parties late at night on the ground floor, Knocking on doors, heated arguments next door and then a few more on the floor People opening doors, banging doors, locking doors and not letting someone in. On and on and on until dawn
Very nice decoration, the arts and all environment in the hotel is just great! Loved the activities in the weekend.
Some people speaking out loud on Saturday when there was a party going on. But at least the staff warn that there was going to be noisy
Everything! The style, the staff, the room, the bar, the breakfast.. And I enjoyed the common lobbies at the rooms floors. As well as each and any work of art on the walls... The only risk here is preferring just staying at the Gladston, instead of visiting Toronto!
Better to ask for large rooms.
Location to what I needed to do while in Toronto.
I get it, it's an urban/art experience. But it is advertised as a hotel. So the basics like cleanliness and a little peace need to be put in place. Very disappointed with the whole experience.
Amazing contemporary artwork on walls throughout the hotel. Each room decor is different and interesting. Bar/restaurant area is a fun spot for dining.
Bathroom was tiny and in need of updating. Stall plastic shower similar to those found in cheap hotels.
The location happened to suit me very well but it is not really that close to downtown. Size of room was good.
I was misled re possibility of a king size bed. And of course the price was ridiculous.
it is very funky and staff are very welcoming. The tablet in the room is a great perk :)
Its hard to get around- the metro is a long walk from the hotel. Room & bathroom are small
Coffee was really good
Cleaning lady making noise cleaning other rooms woke me up. Not her fault just the way the noise travels. Front desk staff way too hipster Room not dark enough. A/c too loud
can't go wrong for a unique boutique hotel in the heart of queen west
the ac system is very loud
The Gladstone is the epitome of boutique hotels. There is always something going on but even when that thing is raucous your room is an oasis of stylish calm. The morning coffee to go is a great touch and delicious too. The art, the rooms and staff and the location are all fantastic.
There is nothing to dislike at the Gladstone
We loved the artistic themes in the rooms and the art galleries throughout the hotel. There was a wonderful restaurant and two bars. The staff was very friendly and helpful and every regard. We will definitely stay there again. Great location.
Parking was limited.
The hotel is super unique. I loved the old style elevator. Even the hallways were like an art gallery. Our room was clean and cool. It was outfitted with a tablet too! Would definitely stay at the Gladstone again without hesitation.
The staff was very kind, helping us with out luggage up the 100+ year old elevator to our room. The room was very clean and equipped with a dry bar full of healthy snacks and a tablet if you didn't bring your own. The overall feel of the gladstone hotel is like hoping in a time machine back 100 years but bringing a couple artists with you and having them work their magic on your hotel room it is a great atmosphere. We also took time to grab a drink at the awesome bar they have setup downstairs later during our stay. Overall yes I would recommend the gladstone to anyone looking for something with great location and is willing to pay a bit more for a great experience.
Room tiny and not good value for money. Bat and restaurant closed for refurb which was not made clear at time of booking.
The hotel is an art gallery and all the rooms are furnished differently. The whole building has a nice allure and the staff was extremely nice. Reaching the city centre is quite easy, just a short ride with the tram - which works both day and night.
We requested a quiet room but we had the one facing the Main Street, just above the hotel entrance - there was some noise, but it was bearable. The main source of discomfort, unfortunately, was the air conditioning: we had to switch it off, because my husband was waken up from it every time it started during the night. And the room was missing two minor items: a fridge and a leaning area for the suitcases.
Shower stall was too small. Should be able to shower without getting hair wet. Otherwise, everything was wonderful.
LOVED the Gladstone - the rooms are individually and wonderfully decorated - the staff all very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. Art throughout, and in a great and interesting neighborhood in Toronto. I highly recommend - but if you need parking, book ahead.
Room theme. Old elevator. Common area on each floor. Coffee tea station in common area.
Loved the art installations all over the hotel. Our roomwas very modern & the bed was extremely comfortable! More comfortable than our bed at home! The staff in the cafe downstairs were vert friendly and we chatted for a long while about the history of the building and how it's been transformed over time to become what it is today. Breakfast was delicious! I liked the complimentary coffee in the morning. I was also surprised how quiet it was in our room at night, considering there was a wedding going on in the hotel and a live band playing in the bar below. We were on the fourth floor though, so far from all the action. All in all, a great stay! We'll recommend this hotel to others and will come back again to stay when we're in Toronto.
Internet connection on the provided tablet was slow, but having a tablet at all was a perk we weren't expecting. It didn't really bother us, but there was cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling (I'd imagine others would complain about it, though).
Unique rooms, different than the chain hotels, helpful and extremely friendly staff
We had to cancel one room the am of arrival day. They said they would try to rent till 8pm but were unsuccessful. As hotel was otherwise full it was odd the room wasn't rented easily?
The neighborhood is amazing & the best situated hotel to get around Toronto. We'll be back!
The bathroom. Specifically the shower - too small & broken shower head.
Loved the bed and especially the pillows. The elevator was very cool too.
The room was way to hot.
