Lovley hotel .
close to tiananmen square very friendly staff staff speaks english helpful staff
hard to find rough location - located in an alley taxi drivers did not know where it was
- Well english speaking on reception - Good restaurant with europian breakfast - Good location in the city - only 8 min by walk to main square - Very typical chinese street with famouse atmosfere
Everyone was prompt, polite and efficient even when they couldn't speak English!
good location and friendly staff
hard mattress and a bit noisy. Hutong where hotel is located stinks but there's no bad smell in hotel
Great location near Tien An Men square, in a renovated/reconstructed touristy part of old Beijing. Typical courtyard hotel. Friendly welcome by staff with an adequate command of English - well, at least, a few of them ;)
Location Bar/restaurant Proximity to subway and Tianamen square English spoken Offered tours
Beds were sooo hard!
Great location, tv in room
Toilet is really small and quite dirty, lumps of dust and dirt kept falling from the ceiling while showering
This Hotel is a real chinese hotel. If you want to experience the traditional Beijing, then it is fo you. It is located in a "Hutong" which at first sight could scare a bit if you are a typical european. However, the place is really safe, Beijing in general is safe I would say. Be prepare to see people cooking and cleaning dishes just there in the street, lot of bikes and stuff. Special mention deserves Jack at the reception. He speak very well english , at least, enough english to move around and get things done which is difficult to find in China. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, specially because this guy, he is a gem in Beijing for a non-chinese speaker like me. Rooms are Ok for a couple of days.
The only thing that I will mention here is that the location of the Hotel could be, at the very beginning,a bit confuse to get. Keep in mind that NO ONE speak english in China, but once you know where it is, then is great. Print a map of the zone and go.
The staffs are so helpful and friendly. Jack thanks for everything.
There should be a curtain to prevent toilet getting wet during for shower.
The place is not easy to find but has a great location. It is full of staffs but the GREAT guy is Jack. Her is VERY kind and helpful, not the others. The room is fine, food ok and the price reasonable. I recommend to come here.
The rest of the staffs are almost useless.
They were located close to some main tourist destinations - such as The Forbidden City and Tianaman Square.
The taxicab could not find the hotel and then because the street is too narrow it could not drive up the street to drop us off. The staff did not speak English very well and were not very friendly or helpful.
Hotel cultural decor, location. Staff are soo helpful, they really make and effort with the clients. Value and great I house bar!
Awesome location, down an alley way, short walk to food street and all tourist destinations, would stay again. The rooms are small, but tidy.
Hotel is traditional style at very good location close to subway in a very animated streets.
In the middle of lively Hutong-daily life, but very quiet.
Location, authentic surroundig.
Beds are too hard. In the mornings the hotel is too noisy because of the cleaning staff.
Best rate in town for own room with private toilet Very friendly staff and well mannered better than 5 stars hotels
Only 2 staff could understand me and they r not always handy. Location is far from main atrractions if u r gonna walk. Caffee closes at 8pm!
- location was very good - the two dishes i tried from the hotel restaurant were tasty and nice - clean small rooms - good working shower with hot water - free internet use downstairs at the public computer - good working aircon (didnt use it much)
- some (mostly male) staff no or little knowledge of english. The two girls tried their best. - the hotel mark outside says HYDE HOTEL and is marked in red, it is somehow confusing with a earlier hotel in the same hutongstreet. - the matras was a bit hard
Not worth the money you paid. dirty and not tidy. WIFI couldn't connect. outside is the street is dirty. some staff not much local knowledge.
The hotel is very central, an easy walk from the Quianmen shopping streets, metro and/or Tiananmen Square. The staff are also very helpful & speak reasonable English
The air on didn't work, so it was a bit like sleeping in a warm greenhouse. It all feels a bit 'western tourist' in spite of being in the middle of the hutong.
Very good location, although it's not the prettiest area of the city. The building is beautiful, old, antique. The room was clean, furnished with old style furniture. Nice staff.
The bathroom could be a little bit cleaner. To apply a shower curtain would be a good idea, all of your stuff gets wet, during taking a shower. The way hardest bed I ever tried to sleep. I stayed three places in China, this bed was the worst.
Staf was friendly
I didnt like anything at this hotel, I believe they have mold, the room was nasty and unclean, I stayed over night and booked a different hotel because I was so scared to stay there. The area was shady, smelled like urine. Worst place I've ever stayed. Im saddened by the fact that I have no where to upload the pics I took of this place. The bathroom was very nasty you could see black moldy stuff around the toilet, and sink area. Overall bad place!
The staff was friendly, there are bikes you can rent, easy walk to metro and super close to forbidden city and tianamen square, walk to great restaurants and cheap eats
The beds are hard....that's all of china The water pools in the bathroom after you shower
Nice staff! One fixed my iPad case, another wrote me a nice letter in perfect English. Taxi from motel was cheep thanks to hotel staff. Air conditioner was great. Good people stayed here from many country's. Pleasent two weeks!
My room was on the top floor in the corner thus I had a bad signal for wifi! Bed hard for me, but comforter made it comfortable.
