The hotel is very central, an easy walk from the Quianmen shopping streets, metro and/or Tiananmen Square. The staff are also very helpful & speak reasonable English

The air on didn't work, so it was a bit like sleeping in a warm greenhouse. It all feels a bit 'western tourist' in spite of being in the middle of the hutong.

Very good location, although it's not the prettiest area of the city. The building is beautiful, old, antique. The room was clean, furnished with old style furniture. Nice staff.

The bathroom could be a little bit cleaner. To apply a shower curtain would be a good idea, all of your stuff gets wet, during taking a shower. The way hardest bed I ever tried to sleep. I stayed three places in China, this bed was the worst.

Nice staff! One fixed my iPad case, another wrote me a nice letter in perfect English. Taxi from motel was cheep thanks to hotel staff. Air conditioner was great. Good people stayed here from many country's. Pleasent two weeks!

My room was on the top floor in the corner thus I had a bad signal for wifi! Bed hard for me, but comforter made it comfortable.

The staff could speak English. The location was kind of OK The beds and hotel spaces were pretty neat Walking distance to Tienanmen Sq, Mao's memorial, Museum and Qianmen Station Excellent shopping places close by

The toilets didn't flush properly! The gully leading to the hotel was pathetic There were adult stores and dirty massage parlors No toiletries

10 minute walk to Tianamen Square and Forbidden City Steps away from great shopping and restaurants Bikes available at hotel to rent Hotel offers restaurant, lounge, tours, and has 2 computers in lobby

Could hear the family across the hall every morning Wifi was spotty on 3rd floor Bathroom floor tends to flood after showers

Can't beat the location, 200meters from Tiananmen Square, a few yard from Qianmen St (equivalent of Oxford St in London) and underground station. Bar in the hotel is excellent, very good western food very good price. My partner really enjoyed his English food there after failing to get this in other 5 star and 4 star hotels in Beijing. The building is beautiful, typical Chinese courtyard architecture. I heard the owner paid more than £10 million pounds a few years ago, now worth a lot more, I am not surprised at all.

Nothing really, double room a bit small but has everything you need so no complian. Make sure you have the staff book you airport run when leaving, as the location is so central and more rules on parking and stopping, can make calling taxi on street difficult.

Traditional decor; Located in the middle of everything yet still tucked away; Good size room

Shower is almost right on top of the toilet!

Staff at front desk will go out of their way to assist you in any way. I have travelled around the world, staying at many different locations and I can say that the Manager endevours to assist you in every aspect which is fantastic. I would also recommend the tours too; value for money. Request for the 3rd floor, as rooms are quite and you get great views. Opposite Hotel (2nd shop door left of Hotel) is a local buffet served behind a plastic screen door. Food was AMAZING and absolutely delicous. Do not be put off by the decor and plastic screen entrance. Most delicous and nutrious food we ate during the whole trip in China..and we had dined in 5 star places too. This buffet is an absoute winner. You will dine with locals as no tourists go there! Fabulous experience.

Coffee too expensive for what you get. Often it arrived luke warm.

I liked the old-fashioned vibe of the hotel. Good area.

The bed was so uncomfortable we found it difficult to sleep. Also, the bathroom floor did not drain the water well and it made the tiled floor very slippery and dangerous.

I liked that it was a old building a hutong in Beijing something more traditional was a pleasure to stay at instead of a standard hotel

    the location maybe. Maybe.

It wasn't a hotel. in any country in europe it would have not a single star. i have been afterwards in chengdu and shanghai, and the hotels there were A LOT better, so I think I can compare the things. Don't go there guys. Unless you really don't care where you're staying.

Excellent location for site seeing. Very freindly, helpfully staff despite the language difference.

Beds were hard. Best suited to backpackers and families on low budget.

The dorm has a private bathroom. The location is GREAT, very close to DaShilan shopping street and the Tiananmen Square. The staff are friendly too.

The wifi could be better in the dorm.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and really liked it. The staff was very friendly and always ready to help us. They helped us to book our train tickets and answered all our questions. The hotel is ideally located in a very typical hutong. Just down the street you can find some nice restaurants and the metro is also closeby. The rooms are really OK (AC, etc) and the rooms are very quiet at night. I would definitely recommend it. We should at least have stayed one more night because 3 nights were not enough to see everything Beijing has to offer

The Internet connection didn't work properly.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Location is ideal and near to many attractions and subway.

The bathroom requires a shower curtain as everywhere gets soaked and it takes a while to dry.

Genuine "hutong" location close to Qianmen Avenue/Tiananmen Square. Enthusiastic, helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful, well-equipped rooms in a courtyard setting. Fantastic value-for-money.

Maybe the in-house food could be better but it doesn't matter as there is so much good food within easy reach.

Fantastic Location in the Hutang area, near Forbidden CIty etc. Friendly staff, cheap, lots of ideas for things to do and good advice... they put us in touch with terrific local guides Kevin, and Leo... Rather charming building and decor.

Toilets and shared bathroom could have been cleaner and easier to use. Bikes a little unsafe (but great idea) Food so/so - western included - but unreliable cook..

    - they booked the family room I was supposed to sleep - took 2 hs to check in - disgusting hotel, poor cleanliness - they charge 15dolars just to call a taxi for you to go to the airport (they charge you 200 RMB for airport when real price is 100 RMB)
