Medieval History and Charming Architecture
With 1,200 years of history, Bremen is a lovely city located in northwest Germany. Once part of the Hanseatic League, it's hosted one of the world’s oldest fairground festivals, the Freimarkt, since 1066!
Most of historical buildings can be found around the central Marktplatz. Dominated by the town hall with its Bremen Ratskeller, a council wine cellar with a collection of over 600 German wines, the Marktplatz features the statues of Roland, the city’s legendary protector, and the Town Musicians, animals from the Grimm Brothers’ tales.
From there, you can stroll towards the Schnoor, the city’s oldest quarter with narrow, cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and supposedly the world’s smallest hotel with just one room! One of the city’s major attractions, Böttcherstrasse, a street famous for its expressionist architecture, is also close by.
Walk down the Schlachte, which used to be a harbor and now is an important riverside boulevard with plenty of bars and pubs, where you can sit down and enjoy the beer from the local Beck’s Brewery.
Bremen Airport is just a short tram ride from the Old Town and with the help of Booking.com, you can find many hotels near the airport or in central Bremen.

The old town is charming. I took a two-hour walking tour. Be sure and see Schnoorgasse and Boetscherstrasse and the Dom ( cathedral). It is not easy to get around Bremen if you cannot ride public transport because there is no Uber or Lyft and cabs are hard to get.

We were just driving back from our holiday and Bremen was a good place to stop. Only had time to do a short walk after having breakfast in the train station in the morning. Bremen was a delight to visit, although I did not get to do much sightseeing as I was attending a course. The two days I had to explore were kept very full as there was a lot to see, do and experience. The fact that one can walk to many places, combined with the great public transport system made exploring the city a lot of fun. Overall, the people I met during my stay were very friendly and happy to communicate with me in English, particularly after I tried yo use my very limited German. The food and drink that I had the pleasure of tasting was delicious, especially all the tasty breads, pasteries, chocolates and coffee. I would very much like to visit again.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

We came for the Christmas market and birthday celebration or our son. The busy time for market it from 5 and started to ease at 7.30. If u don't want it so busy avoid this time. I wished we went at 7.30 as it was easier to walk around but we still enjoyed our time at the market and visited the church wich was beautiful and added history to our visit. Loved the winding little streets with little coffee sold, pubs and shops. The tram service was really easy to use and it was always on time with shirt waiting times.West

The hotel doesn’t have its own parking but there is a public parking right next door. So super convenient. The hotel had a generous breakfast spread which was also included in my room rent so good value for money. The rooms were super clean. Also being right in the city centre there are lots of eating options nearby. I would stay again here if I were to go to Bremen.
