The location of the hotel right next to the inner harbor was really nice, and a quick walk to downtown Duisburg. The room felt very new and clean. Breakfast was 14Euro for the buffet and had many things to choose from, so felt like a great deal.

The Landschaftpark is a fantastic park based on a truly industrial setting. The view from the top of the no.5 blast furnace is excepitional. It's free entry and is only a 1.90 euro tram ride from Hbf.
Wholesome food and their own beer from Brauhaus Webster completed a great day.

This is a place for all seasons.
This is a place for all seasons. The city is hospitable, multicultural and pedestrian friendly. It’s also very dog friendly. I noticed that dogs are allowed in the shopping malls and I saw dogs allowed in almost every shop including department stores.

I didn't go to Duisburg to see the city.
I didn't go to Duisburg to see the city. I went to see the opening night of the opera house's production of Wagner's opera "The Flying Dutchman". The musical and dramatic standard was very high, and it was a most memorable cultural experience. It is not just a beautiful opera house, it offers many fine productions year round. The city is only about 10 minutes from Dusseldorf airport, so easy to get to.
Apart from the Opera House (Theater Duisburg) I can't think of any other reason I would want to visit Duisburg. Pity that Booking.com does not list the opera house as the major cultural venue worth commenting on.

The harbours are awesome.
The harbours are awesome. I have never seen so many ships, cranes , containers in an inland harbour . Really good cycling paths, easy access to the Rhine and Ruhr. Good restaurants. I recommend Mykonos in Meiderich. Very friendly people. Some parts are in need of modernisation. Public transport very good.

What a horrible city!
What a horrible city! I’ve travelled all over Germany, visited at least 50 towns and cities, but I hadn’t been to Duisburg yet, so I figured I’d give it a go. Don’t bother! Apparently it’s one of the poorest cities in Germany and it shows. What a dilapidated, sad city. Even in the city centre there’s buildings that are falling apart, so many empty and abandoned storefronts. Inhabitants of the city appeared sad and bored as well, not exactly the friendliest folks in Germany. Not worth a visit, except for the amazing and free Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord. Definitely hit it up for a visit of an hour or two if you’re in the Ruhr area, it’s worth the drive or ride by public transit, but don’t bother with the rest of the city.
The location is fantastic, right in the middle of Duisburg. The station is down the street, Lehmbruck Museum is just around the corner. The room itself is totally fine, albeit with a number of minor issues. Check in was very easy (though be sure to write down your room number and code; mobile data can be an issue in Germany so looking it up on the spot is tricky).
Beautifully appointed apartment within walking distance to the Duisburg Christmas Market. Very comfortable beds, Nespresso coffee maker, welcome snacks, and a private garage makes this apartment one of the best we have stayed in. The owners are very responsive and kind. We are very pleased with our stay.
I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Rheingarten. The staff was truly exceptional. Genuinely friendly and very accommodating. My room was comfortable, spacious, the breakfast was delicious with a lot of choice, and my room had a great view. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Duisburg.
Nice and clean location near the highway to stop during a long trip across Germany. We could park our car for free in a fenced area near the hotel.
We had a superb wiener schnitzel in Webster Brauhaus, which is located a few hundreds meters from the hotel! Really worth the walk!
Staff was reaaaally smiley and helpful, they had a crib and feeding chair for our baby, it was a quiet place to sleep. Supermarkets, drugstores, dining locations are close. Free parking is provided by the hotel.
With almost everything closed in Duisburg, the hotel was a good comfortable choice- even though we had to order dinner from the outside to the hotel! Very nice and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
Location was good. Facilities were good. Short walk to the streetcar. In the middle of summer I mainly choose based on which hotels have air conditioning. The room was cold, so I was happy.
I always like the location right by the station and it is much nicer than the Ibis (which I think is called something else now). Duisburg is very easy to reach from Düsseldorf Airport
Comfortable room with modern equipement. Easy parking on their own place. Breakfast was more than fine. Some restaurants on the same street. I would recommend this hotel.
