The capital of Lower Saxony, beautiful Hanover has been so thoughtfully planned that you can’t tell it was largely destroyed in World War II. The city is full of green spaces, one of which is by the huge Maschsee lake, where sailors and rowers share the water with pedal boats. In the winter, you might be able to skate there. A smaller lake in the Maschpark closer to the center of the city reflects the grand New Town Hall overlooking it.
The Old Town Hall is in the Old Town where half-timbered buildings were brought from all areas of the city during rebuilding. The square in back hosts one of the Hanover Christmas markets. The others are on Kröpcke pedestrian shopping street, and in front of the station, where the city’s main shopping center, Ernst August Gallerie, is located.
To the north are the incredible, beautifully landscaped Herrenhausen Gardens, bursting with color most of the year. This area gives its name to the local pilsner, Herrenhäuser. There are also colorful sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, whose work is also displayed in the Sprengel modern art museum.
As an Expo City and host of many festivals, accommodations in Hanover can get booked up quickly, so choose yours on Booking.com soon after booking your flight to Hanover Airport.

I wouldn't recommend anyone making the trip to visit Hannover, I was in a nearby village for a wedding. Other places in Germany, especially Bavarian, are gorgeous and a much better destination. Hannover is similar to Paris with a large drug user population, they mostly keep to themselves but you may have a weird encounter or two while visiting.

Nice green city. Small and comfortable to move around.
Nice green city. Small and comfortable to move around. It has the typical city centre of a German city and several parks for walking and having rest.
I just spent one day since I went for a music concert, but the public transport I took was excellent.

I didn't expect much from the city, but it turned out to be amazing! It is clean, quiet, comfortable and beautiful. I liked the red line on the pedestrian roads that connects all the landmarks and guides you while walking - it's a perfect option for such lazy tourists like me who don't like to prepare a must-see list in advance 😁
Food - for meat lovers, I would recommend the Afgan restaurant "Masa". You won't regret 👌
The shopping area is located right near the train station - there are quite many shops.

Hannover is a typical German city with a pleasant city center where shops remain open until the evening. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The main draw seems to be the Hannover Messe events. If you're seeking peace and quiet, Hannover might fit the bill, but some may find it a bit boring.

I liked that Hannover city has limited traffic around the main railway station where only of buses, taxis and bicycles move quite slowly. The roads can be crossed easily, no rushing. Also, where traffic lights are for pedestrians, the green light is coming very soon after touching the button. Public transport is excellent - always in close proximity with multiple choices, moving exactly, except the buses which sometimes delay. The town is very clean.

I was there for an exhibition at Hannover Messe.
I was there for an exhibition at Hannover Messe.
Hannover has excellent public transport which allowed me to reach the Messe easily.
The weather was not too my liking (coming from India, I found it too cold and discomforting)
The suburbs are beautiful with lot of trees and spacious gardens all over
Our second stay at this hotel travelling through Germany by car. The rooms are very dated, but it is this factor that makes the stay affordable. The location is fantastic, our room had a balcony, which is often not the case for the price, and the nearby park and shops as well as accessibility from the motorway, made it an excellent choice for an overnight stop when driving a long distance.
All the staff were super friendly, helpful and accomodating our needs, gave great recommendations where to go and what to see as it was our first time in Hannover. The room itself was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel was located very central and close to the main train station, restaurants and coffee shops, it was really convenient to get to many touristy places.
The host was very helpful and responsive and happy for me to check in slightly earlier, the room was clean and spacious, equipped with ironing board etc for anyone attending any shows in Messe Hannover next door. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Only 15-20 mins walk to the Messe entrance.
I was in Hannover for the Fairground festival so being close to the train station was so helpful, the room was clean and well organized, the staff was friendly and they even send me my stuff that i forgot at the hotel to my home adress, i recommend this hotel to anyone who visit Hannover.
I stayed at the InterCity in Hanover and in Bonn on my Germany trip. Locations are great, rooms were very clean, staff were very pleasant. The free intercity transit pass was a nice bonus. Would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Germany.
A 5-minute walk from Hannover Airport (HAJ), so very handy for early flights. The staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant is spacious and has good food (and beer of course), and the hotel and rooms are comfortable and nice with a lot of air.
Given address is the company office. My final accommodation location was some streets away but actually even closer to Hannover Messe (10 min walk) which was very useful. Shared kitched allowed to prepare some snacks and coffee.
Hotel is a short walk from Hannover Aiport. It has a huge lobby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was large, clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. Not the most modern decor but more than acceptable
It was easy to come by car and location was comfortable alongside autobahns, but far enough as the hotel surroundings were calm and quite. Staff also prepared breakfast bag, as I needed to depart early.
Fantastic place, very clean and quite! Love that the train station was 2-3 minutes walk away from the hotel to Hannover city, and it leaves every 10 minutes! I would recommend this place! 🙂🙂🙂
Simply the best hotel Hannover has to offer. Cozy rooms, exceptional service, absolutely central location, great breakfast buffet etc. Also, if you book early, very reasonable priced.
The stuff is very welcoming, and the stay was very comfortable. They really have their way to let you feel at home .Am definitely going to stay there every time i visit Hannover.
I was pleasantly surprised by the grand luxurious vibes of this hotel. It was dead quiet at night even though it's right at the airport. Would stay here again anytime,
BREAKFAST WAS NICE, PERSONAL WAS HELPING, RECEPTION DESK PPL NOT ALWAYS DOES OR WANT TO SPEAK ENGLISH, THAT WAS BIT SURPRISING BY THE FACT WE ARE IN GERMANY..
Typical Turkish hotel in Germany. There is a kettle and tea set, a bottle of water and a refrigerator. Clean bathroom. Clean and fresh towels, soft bed.
