Very nice place, authentic Black Forest farm house, including the livestock. The owners, Gotz family were very nice and hospitable. The location is excellent for day trips to Strassbourg, Triberg, and all vilages around by car and would recommend trains to Baden Baden and Karlsruhe. Visit the Freilicht Museum of Black Forest , in walking distance. Good breakfast.

On hot days, a lot of mosquitos (it's a farm and it's close to Gutach river ). Bring some mosquitos repellent.

If you want to have a comfortable (yet reasonably priced) stay in the Black Forest, this is a premium location to head for. Historic building sensibly updated for the tourist business, can provide B&B as well as extra services such as packed lunch, light evening meals and so on. Enthusiastic owners ... and don't miss the "Grillmeister" at work on a Friday. Both main road and rail line are far enough away to not ruin your holiday, the "Sommerrodelbahn" next door is no noise hazard. And you are just a relaxed walk away from the excellent "Vogtsbauernhof" open-air museum.

The only thing missing was a rail stop nearby - there is one planned for the museum, though, it seems. This lack of convenience is not the fault of the Wäldebauernhof ... but it is strange to stay in a town that is identified by being on the Black Forest railway line (there is another Gutach nearby ... in the Breisgau), yet has no stop ...

3Rd time we've visited Carolla & Karl Hans' farmhouse. Excellent comfortable en-suite room. Hearty continental breakfast sets you up for the day ahead. Our firm favourite in terrific scenery and with so many nearby places of interest. Return in late afternoon and to meet folk from all over Europe who, like us, appreciate peace and tranquility. Only a few minutes easy walk from Gutach village for evening meal in Hotel Konig. We'll be back !

After a long drive down from Amsterdam, it would have been nice to have tea/coffee in our room. But, there is always beer or wine available on the patio.

felt very welcome. A lovely location, easy for exploring the area by car or public transport, and really friendly and attentive hosts. Food was available in the evenings, and was very inexpensive and delicious. Highly recommended!

Carolina and Kalle were very friendly. Their sons, who are young, were always busy with work and play. It was nice to go to sleep hearing crickets and children's laughter at night. The farm animals made it seem like a real country vacation. Kalle put on quite a nice BBQ on Saturday night.

One must have a car in order to enjoy the Black Forest from here. English was a bit of a problem at times, but we all made do.

It was difficult to find staff if you needed them. The location is quite remote and therefore you require a car to get to shops etc.
