staff at Hodelpa is excellent. They make you feel at home.
Bathroom should be updated.
Breakfast was fine and front desk very helpful
Noisy - ask for a room away from main street but Santiago is noisy so not really the hotels fault.
Knowledgable and friendly staff, large room with a view of the city, and a casino in the lobby!
To tell the true everything was excellente staff were traing
free shuttle between the airport and hotel
no restraunt near by;wifi signal is not strong to connect;too much nosie in my room
Good service Good facilities Excellent breakfast Room was a bit weak Good wifi in the room
Some service staff were friendly.
Some of the staff in the restaurant were unfriendly, and the location is downtown Santiago so its not quiet at all horns of the passing vehicles keeps you awake constantly.
The staff was very friendly especially the housekeeper.
The drain the shower would let out the water slowly therefore the water would rise during a shower, also the toilet would screech when flushed.
I love the fact that it is located in close proximity to.everything
Staff were efficient
The wi fi was almost non existent. And the second day the hotel was full and there was no space in the restaurant in the evening nor the following morning for breakfast with people waiting for a table
Within walking distance are good restaurants, Bon ice cream, and historical monuments. The buffet breakfast has good variety.
Parking is tight when the lot is near full.
Super friendly staff They were great with my baby boy! Breakfast - cereals, bread, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, dominican breakfast. They even prepared a fresh fruit juice for my diabetic husband. It is located in the centre of the city and has a guarded parking offering you a free car wash. Clean rooms and free wi-fi. Definetly going back!!!
As it is in the centre it can be a bit noisy in the street, but this would be for every hotel in that area.
This hotel services business travelers mostly. The restaurant is very good, the rooms are small but adequate for a one or two night stay. The location is in the city center and getting to points of interest is easy.
Rooms on the side toward the afternoon sun can get hotter than the A/C can overcome.
Staff , hospitality and the breakfast was great ! Very nice view !
The noisy street area at night !
The price of room can be lower
Good breakfast selections
Lied on web site no pool, horrible gym. I hate lies
The rooms need an urgent upgrade. Floors and bathroom need to be redone.
The personnel was excellent
This is a perfect business hotel with restaurant on site. It is located close the shopping streets of downtown Santiago and two blocks from the Historic site Fortaleza de San Luis. The Monument is within walking distance( 10 blocks) also, however for just $3 it would be easy to take a taxi almost anywhere. I even was able to get a taxi to the Coast (Sosua) for $70. The room comes with a reasonably priced mini bar. The Vista Restaurant on site had great ethnic food and served good drinks. Breakfast was also included in the price of the room daily. WiFi was high speed without interruption and if you didn't bring your own PC, there is a business center available for internet use. I felt very comfortable and safe at this hotel and would stay here again.
The pasta dish( spaghetti carbonara) that I ordered was not prepared very well, so I recommend ordering only ethnic Dominican food at the restaurant. Beware there are not many economic hotels in the Business (non-touristic) city of Santiago. Recommend if you are not in Santiago for business, head straight to the coast and have a great time.
Hotel personnel were not helpful and impersonal particularly the front desk people ... shower did not work properly ... in comparison with similar hotels in the area, the room charges are too expensive (I could have paid $35 a night less at two other comparable hotels in the same neighborhood ...
Once I worked out how to find it (my fault, not the hotel's...), the location is perfect: just off Calle del Sol and literally a short walk to almost everywhere. The staff, on the front desk, in the bar, and especially in the car park (my car got a flat tyre and they not only warned me, but also changed it, for no charge, after having already washed it for free!), were both efficient and really helpful. The room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, well-equipped, and had a great view, north, of the Monument and the cityscape. Welcome drink in the top-floor bar was both welcoming and just what I wanted after a long day, breakfast was buffet-style, plentiful, with eggs made just how I wanted them, and I was even allowed to use the room, well after check-out time, with no quibbling after a busy morning sight-seeing... In short, I could not have had a more pleasant stay!
The one thing that bothered me, and bothers me nationwide in the DR in the establishments that choose to not include taxes in their rates, was the fact that the price you see, via booking.com, is not what you pay. On top of the published price, you are charged 18% tax and, then, an additional 10% service charge, making the total close to 30% more than the room rate you started with. It's 100% legal and common practice, but it's always a bit of a shock when you get the bill... Still, it's not the hotel's fault, either.
Staff was very friendly!
Wifi was spotty. Room was a bit dated but was more than sufficient.
we were there for just one night and wished I could have stayed longer. I loved the hotel right in the middle of town. fantastic view from the restaurant on the 6th floor. I will just have to go back.
Great Service & good value for the money
Convenient location, free breakfast, good wifi.
They charged me 28% tax on the room, even though I disputed that in every other hotel in the country I've been charged 18%, and also the reservation denoted an additional 18% would be charged not 28%. Be careful, they'll rip you off, and it's already overpriced.
