The staff were all really friendly, very nice people. The kitchen has everything you might need, and is always clean. Laundry service is available. The bathrooms are clean, hot water always available. The location of the hostel is great, it is just one street away from the main part of town, so you don't get a lot of traffic and it's a quieter area.The hostel appears to have two parts, an older section and a newer section. The newer section looks really nice. The older section is all made of wood, that's where we stayed because we were trying to be cheap. But still our room was comfortable. There is a nice area with hammocks and tables. We heard that Mindo gets busy mostly on the weekends, and we were there during the week, so it was really quiet and at times we were the only people there. Also, the staff was really helpful, gave us tips on local buses etc.

Good location and value for money. They gave you a basket with a towel, toilet paper, soap and the padlock for your room (which was a bit interesting).

A great location in Mindo! Very close to the hiking trails and a number of haciendas and reserves from which you can do some really amazing birdwatching, either with a guide or alone (I did the latter) to spot toucans, barbets, woodcreepers, Andean cock of the rock, and numerous hummingbird species to name but a few. A very nice and spacious kitchen, combined with hammocks from which to lull yourself to sleep! A wonderful place to stay near Mondo's mystical cloud forest. Filtered water for free saves you money (and your health!)

I like nice surprises the ad for this location depicts more rustic accomodations. The establishment has added a new wing with really nicely finished rooms. Anyone booking here won't be disappointed. The upgrade charge is is really worth the fee
