FAQs about hotels in Sharm El Sheikh

Year-Round Sun and Fun

Set against the backdrop of desert and mountains, Sharm el Sheikh is a year-round Red Sea diving and beach resort. Although based on an existing village, it is very much a purpose-built holiday town, with lots of international brands of hotel, restaurant and bar lining its sandy shores.

The oldest part surrounds the Old Market, a heady mix of shisha and spices, roughly in the middle of the Naama Bay and Um el Sid suburbs. The other Sharm districts of Shark’s Bay and Nabq Bay are along the coast by Sharm el Sheikh Airport.

The Red Sea offers some of the world’s best dive spots with rich underwater life on the deep reefs of the amazing Ras Mohammed National Park. Other watersports include windsurfing, kayaking or banana boating, and the Cleopark waterpark has flumes, pools and rapids.

Other things to do include shopping at Il Mercato mall and the many souvenir stalls, karting at Ghibli Raceway, or watching a show at the Arabian-styled Alf Leila Wa Leila. Outside town you can go horse or camel riding in the desert, and visit a Bedouin village or St Catherine’s Monastery in the Sinai peninsula hills.

The Sharm el Sheikh accommodation on Booking.com covers everything from 5-star holiday resorts to all-inclusive hotels with pools, and cheap apartments.

    Sharm is very touristy.

Sharm is very touristy. If you do any outings, scuba or other, you end up in big groups that join other tours in big groups, in the same location - very busy. If you stay in your hotel space or your allowed beach (you aren't apparently allowed to walk on the beach or walkway past your hotel property), then it's nice and relaxing. I wouldn't come here if you're a busy body, if you just want beach with a stunning clear water (and super close snorkeling), and don't mind lots of people, this is a good place.

Sharm ticks all the boxes for us.

Sharm ticks all the boxes for us. A cheaper Maldives if you pick the right accommodation. Snorkelling and diving are wonderful. The Egyptians people are lovely, but be aware they are there to make a living too. There are loads of fakes and tipping is always appreciated due to very low wages. A cleaner earns £140 per month! As for outside activities if you want to visit the sites be prepared for long days. Sharm is better done as beach stay or part of a multi visit to Cairo/Luxor. Overall I have been 5 times and would return again. Airport has poor facilities but the security is top. Safety first. Be prepared for hassle outside the resorts such as Nama Bay. April weather was 32 rising to 38 some days.

We liked a lot the seafood restaurants in Sharm - Fariz and Mahoni. I highly recommend them. Sharm has been modernised for COP 26 so looks neat and cool, although crowded in the evenings. Don't forget to visit the Soho Square in the evening with its dazzling lights. The Farsha bar is out of this world. The Heavenly Cathedral is an absolute must - one of the most beautiful churches that we have seen ever. The Bedouin night show and food were nothing special but the kids liked the camel rides and the safari on the quadrobikes.

The hotel s contracted beach, Viva Beach was tidy, clean and the staff was friendly. We had three or four dinners at El-Masrien restaurant and were satisfied. Altough the service was a bit erratic, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. It was very easy to travel around that we visited the Old Town and Soho Square by using local minibus. I must say that it is always necessary to bargain when shopping and taking taxi.

The area of Sharm El Sheikh is stunning and there is plenty to do. Shop around for trips out as there is a huge price variance between vendors and pay up front as most charge for credit / debit card use and cash machines are massively expensive to use with terrible rates.

Didn't travel much outside of our resort (only a brief stay for 7 days). Not a fan of the airport - take your own toilet roll!! It seems to be held to ransom by employees of the airport, who expect you to pay for them handing you toilet paper/hand towels, something I am not accustomed to, coming from the UK.

The 2nd time I stayed here at superior double sea view room, the staff was so friendly and helpful specially Mr Muhammad Taha who did all he can to make us happy . The location was prime at high mountain with both Naama bay and Sea Magical view . The room was so clean and ready before we arrived . The check in didn’t take more than 30 seconds to be finished that was incredible . The house man was professional . Overall the value is more than money in comapre with all hotels in Sharm El Sheikh at the same category .

Very nice and very comfortable hotel. All inclusive The room was very clean and big and air conditioned. A lot of swimming pools and restaurants. The aqua park is nice. The meals are special and tasty. Bravo chef. The staff is perfect, the service is fast and you got the VIP fillings. The beach is wonderful and filly equipped. Meals drinks, towels, jacuzzi, cold beers. The reef is amazing. I have only one complaint, some of the restaurants do not have air conditions, believe me it is not nice in hot weather.

Amazing service, always with a smile and willingness to help, especially Michael at the front desk. The food was good, great value for money (not 5 stars but certainly good) Room were comfortable and big. Pools were nice and clean, and the animation staff was full of energy, please note that all inclusive dose not include alcohol and you need to add 5 usd per day, worth the money. WIFI is 1.2 USD per day but good connection. The hotel is not the best in Sharm but for the cost it is above and beyond!!

This place is simple and cheap but got everything you need—clean beds, bathrooms, a friendly host, WiFi, breakfast, peace, and security. If you don’t want to pay big money for overpriced and overcrowded big hotels where everything is rushed and the service is impersonal, I’d recommend you booking with this tiny hotel (motel). It was my 3rd visit there, and everything was as expected—5 stars from me.

The hotel is very clean and everyone except the buffet chef has a very nice attitude. I was surprised that the outdoor bar was free. I ordered a Jack Daniel's and it tasted completely wrong. Then I ordered the red label and it didn't taste right either. I don't know why a 5 star hotel would have something like this happen. This makes me doubt the quality of all the food and beverages in this hotel

The property has lots to say offer, many pools events and activities. Staying at Rixos- Ultra All Inclusive Adults only, permits you access to its neighbouring hotel which is family oriented. Its main attraction is the water park! Restaurants, the neighbouring hotel and pools across the resort were all accessible! Buggies picked you up and dropped you off

Ayman is a very cordial host. Willing to help where he can. He keeps the rooms clean. It is not a 5 star all inclusive resort type place, the price reflects that. If you are an adventure traveler and want to see more of Egypt without all the tourist glitter I recommend it for you. Ratings are relative, for the cost and cleanliness I will rate with a 9.
