For work. Everything is filthy, wherever you go: the whole city is a toilet and garbage dump in the open, even around the pyramids. The sound level too is deafening (traffic as well as people). Nothing works properly, everything is broken, and any administrative procedure has its own logic (from outer space). However, the population is very friendly and helpful if you need help (watch for the scammers though in the touristic spots), and the weather, despite the atmospheric and noise pollution, is really nice (always sunny with a slight wind). Beware: you have to enter with USD or EUR if you are required to pay for anything in a currency other than EGP (ex: visa on entry, tours, etc.) as it is impossible to buy any currency from within the country: they buy, but they do not sell. Conclusion: not worth visiting. And I have been to 46 countries...

Huge , Historical Capital City Mixed population, hard working and well talented. As all over great experience, don’t be confused with the rhetoric, people are fantastic, needs tips and gifts as traditional culture! Mean they expect your love in terms of gifts and tips. I don’t find thieves and robbers there. Good bargains is there way of trading. We love Khan Khalili market for there stuff and prices. You should not miss Nile River dinner cruises.

Cairo has two different faces... a chaotic, dusty one in the day time especially in the older part. At night it becomes the beauty that we want it to be. Go for the Pyramids, GEM, Khan el Khalili and the Nile Cruise dinner. I missed the Coptic and Islamic Cairo visits.

There is so much to see in Cairo.

There is so much to see in Cairo. So many interesting places from different time periods. People are in general friendly and welcoming. We ate at Felfela restaurant in Downtown and had a great evening. The food was excellent and the service too. Very relaxing atmosphere. The most easy way to go around the city are the classic white taxis, once you know the prices well. You can check on Uber first to get an idea. We took our time to discover the pyramids and the spinx. After that we found an amazing café / restaurant with a view to the pyramids, and it felt like a dream to sit there and eat. But I could go on and on. This was my 5th visit to Cairo - and I will be coming back soon.
