A good experience from start to finish! The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, especially Moustafa Disha, Mohammed Badr, and Mohammed Karim, who went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The room was well-equipped with all the essentials, including a comfortable bed, fresh linens, complimentary tea, coffee, toiletries, and daily laundry service. The hotel's location was ideal—close to key attractions yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay. I also appreciated the city tour arranged by the hotel, complete with a personalized guide, Hazem, who was knowledgeable, engaging, and professional.

Resting Place of Pharaohs

Born of an ancient civilisation, Cairo is a vast metropolis centred around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over it into Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.

The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artefacts, including finds from Tutankhamun’s tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.

East is Islamic Cairo, home to 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk – remember to haggle. The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.

If you want to step out of cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.

Before heading to your Cairo accommodation, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Turkish coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

I think Cairo seems quite a culture shock to most visitors, but it's history and artifacts are amazing and I found every Egyptian person I encountered to be wonderful. I found the Egyptian/Islamic culture to be interesting and very welcoming. It's a big city and public transportation is difficult for non-Egyptians, so where you stay is important. I stayed in Giza (near pyramids and GEM) but think Cairo is closer to more attractions. I was a bit fearful to visit Cairo after reading negative feedback but had 0 negative experiences in 6 days. With basic social skills and personality you can talk back any over-aggressive bazaar merchants, drivers, or pan-handlers...I believe that many problems reported in prior feedback were from travelers with subpar common sense, experience, and interpersonal skills.

We had a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful time. Didn't experience scams and always felt safe. Locals took care of us in situations where we felt a bit lost. I'd recommend dressing respectfully and treating locals with respect, and you'll have a wonderful time.

In Cairo, people are very friendly and helpful. I didn’t have any negative experiences. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very satisfied when it came to food and drink. The establishments along the Nile River, however, were quite nice.

THIEVES IN THE HOTEL!!! Everyone seems to want your money, even when you give baksheesh, they keep asking for more! We felt like prey rather than guests. The entire experience was uncomfortable, stressful, and deeply unpleasant. Instead of feeling welcome and safe, we felt constantly targeted for money. Absolutely unacceptable! Only highlight was our visit to Great Egyptian Museum!

Cairo is developing at a rapid pace. The last time I was there was in 2011 and almost everything has been changed. the infrastructure is increasing for good. However amidst all this modern age chaos, the city has still kept the historical outlook alive and is protecting the its rich cultural and historical heritage.

In my humble opinion two days is enough.

In my humble opinion two days is enough. See the pyramids and the GEM museum in one day, see the central historical sections in the second. The constant noise of cars honking wears one down. In GEM specifically seek Tutankamun section.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, Shams and Ibrahim in particular, taking care of every detail. From finding us a ride from the airport to preparing us a breakfast very early in the morning before our departure. They really put a lot of effort into giving you the best possible experience. In additon, the location is perfect, prices are great, the hotel is very clean (the rooms are serviced every single day) and they serve an authentic Egyptian breakfast.

The welcome we received was lovely. All the staff were personable and friendly and the hotel is in a great location with views of the pyramids and close proximity to the incredible Grand Egyptian Musem. Breakfasts were served by the lovely staff on the rooftop terrace / restaurant with a wide choice of pastries, cheeses, bread fruit and omlettes.
