We loved Ciutadella. It's a beautiful historic town, full of elegant buildings, outdoor cafes and restaurants, nice shops, easy to get around. It has an interesting culture, and an authentic, lively atmosphere. We visited Ciutadella in an off season, which meant a calm city with little amount of tourists. Since it was still winter season many restaurants were not open unfortunately and the water temperature was a bit cold. Ciutadella is a good option for anyone wanting a quiet and easy holiday. Admittedly there isn't a lot to do here but swim and eat, but that's what makes it the perfect place to just switch off and rest. Getting to the famous beaches is so easy, there are buses available from the town square that are designated to each beach and have no other stops - I highly recommend pre-booking your return trip though as the buses can only seat like 30 people. The problem was that we thought we,d booked in Cuitadella but the apartment was actually in Cala en Blanes. Cuitadella is 20 mins bus trip and is beautiful. Cala en Blanes is for families not travelling anywhere. Plenty for kids. Run down now.
