PUERTITO is a small resort with several black sand beaches, a lido and swimming area. There is a SPAR supermarket and a small number of cafes and restaurants, many of which were closed during my visit. This was fine, as I was more than happy to self cater. Puerito is 30 minutes from Santa Cruz and from Tenerife Sur Airport. It is about 50 minutes drive from Los Cristianos and Puerto de la Cruz. You need a car and you need to be prepared to self cater. The best thing about the area are the beautiful hiking trails at the end of the village at Malpais de Guimar.LucyIreland - 10Scored 10
It's a lovely town with a very safe and enjoyable beach.
It's a lovely town with a very safe and enjoyable beach. Everything is very clean. Dogs are welcome. We enjoyed long evening walks at the seaside. Prices are reasonable. Food is excellent. We hope to come again next year.VladimirSlovenia - 10Scored 10
There are several very nice bars and restaurants.
There are several very nice bars and restaurants. A lovely harbour that you can swim off. The location is very good for coastal walks or around the nearby Malpais de Guimar which is a nature conservation area. The Pyramids of Guimar make an interesting visit and walks in the mountains or a trip to Las Canadas and Teide are very easy by car. Santa Cruz is only 25 minutes away. The beaches are quite good and safe. It is a good location for visiting other parts of the island.

A really nice small town, good places to eat, easy to walk around. Nice beaches with black sand. A tad windy at times, but lots of sheltered spots. Handy to get to other parts of Tenerife by car. Very friendly staff and good food in Tasca Larandela. Another good place to eat is La Charcada. Good pizza from Pizzeria Mascalzone, perhaps just a few too many dried herbs. Very good supermarkets.MichelleIreland
