Location and part of the design.
Staff perfomance was quite uneven. Rooms are very small and while optical well designed less practical to use.
Breakfast - one of the greatest I`ve ever had in a hotel. Comfortable bed. Helpful and very friendly staff. Location - coudn`t be better. On weekend parking on the nearest streets is free. In general, staying in this hotel is absolute joy.
Excellent room, spacious and super modern. The corner room provided the best view towards the entire length of Bulevard and also to the quare of Swedish Theatre and Stockmann.
The hotel is warm and welcoming and rightly deserves its place in the Design Hotels group. The rooms are all a good size. Breakfast in the Living Room is especially good. I thoroughly recommend booking the hotel's transfer from the airport: simplified everything after a long flight and the driver was courteous and efficient. The hotel has a surprisingly well-equipped gym. The location close by to Stockmann's department store is a definite plus.
relatively small room
Nice and clean hotel on a lovely location with very helpful staff.
the room was actually quite small
Friendly welcome at reception, good service at breakfast and for coffee in the lounge. Cozy atmosphere in the small restaurant and many small delicious items at breakfast. Overall a very warm welcoming air of tranquility in the the hotel, even with a night club below ground. The rooms are comfortable for a couple of days.
Nothing major, just this: I asked for a room to the front, however this was not honored. Whilst the overall design of the hotel is great, the corridors have the charm of a hospital. A bottle of average quality wine in the room for eur 35 is a bit over the top and parking is expensive too. If you stay more than a weekend, the small rooms are not convenient especially in terms of storage space.
Loved the location. We were within walking distance of all the sights that we wanted to see. We went in December (12-14) and were a 2 minute walk from the Christmas markets at the Helsinki Cathedral. It was nice because it's a little cold out so was great to be close to all the shops and the design destrict and the food market, nightlife and all that Helsinki has to offer. The hotel has two great restaurants. Breakfast was included and we had Scandinavian breakfast both mornings (highly recommended). We ate at the Italian restaurant for dinner. Excellent food. We also went to the bar/club in the hotel which was cool and good fun for a drink or two.
Bed was a little small, and so is the room, but didn't bother us too much.
Excellent hotel ruined by charging for Americano coffee during a breakfast that was already included in the price. At checkout the charge was cancelled. But my issue is not about 5 euros. Since when was Americano coffee a "speciality coffee"? If i ordered fried eggs would I be charged for this?
I came here for 20th time and wifi was always free and fast. This time was said that I was lucky and due to the fact I was a regular customer, I could have the fast wifi (?!?). I believe wifi should always be free and fast.
Probably my new favourite hotel in Helsinki. Excellent location, newly renovated and very clean rooms plus a good gym. Additionally a choice of two breakfast alternatives: traditional Scandinavian or Italian, very good.
My room (passion) was advertised as small and it was really VERY SMALL. But not a major issue for one night...
Nice and spacious room with charming design. Very good breakfast with local Finnish products.
Bathrobes were a bit old and broken.
Amazing staff! Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Lovely breakfast
- the breakfast was amazing - great design - fantastic amenities - good service
- the nightclub is noisy and so the rooms on the lower floors close to the club are not so great (but we got a discounted upgrade from Envy to Skysuite which was amazing and which we should have booked in the first place!)
Quiet. Central. Next to a spa.
Every surface cluttered. Closet tiny and hard to access. Swinging shower door couldn't be opened enough to step inside so whole shower taken with door touching my skin. Wi-fi patchy, and front desk made no announcement when they installed a new access code. Messages on tv system couldn't be erased, made tv beep. 50% of desk clerks seemed annoyed to have to deal with me. Bed would have been better up against wall the long way, more floorspace.
Spacious double level room was very furnished in a modern contemporary way. Warm floors in bathroom, great robes and high end toiletries. Great soft lighting and large skylight(can be closed off at night)very quiet on sky loft floor 6 were we were. Better breakfast in Italian on ground floor rather than the Scandavian breakfast on the lobby floor. Both buffet style but Italian will also make you scrambled eggs and bacon or omelette of your choice.
Room was a little cold and took forever to heat up when you put the thermostat up. Very small hanging space and no drawers just 3 very narrow shelves to put your belongings on.
Enjoyed the different breakfast options, fresh bread, quality food. Interesting and cosy interior. Excellent location. Good first impression by check in as we were welcomed with a glas of sparkling wine. Slept very well, comfy and smooth linen.
Only details, but in the bathroom there were some aged details. I also observed that the bathroom wasn't superbly cleaned (some hairs left), but I'm probably beeing picky.
The design of the hotel rooms is awesome, and all the details well thoughtful for the clients. Very nice location, right in the downtown, and could reach to the Helsinki Cathedral, the harbor, and the rock church by walking! Both the restaurants are very nice too.
it's a bit annoying by the last night we noticed the bed sheets and duvet cover were a bit dusty... Didn't bother of talking to the hotel for it was bit too late. but definitely will check closer next time when I check in.
The location is good, few steps from the train station and good breakfast.
The room is small and not so clean - we found little dirty under the bed. The daily rate is high for the service.
The breakfast is fantastic, staff is very helpful, and location couldn't be much better in downtown Helsinki.
Free internet is extremely slow, almost unusable. Price of their smallest room was almost unacceptably high- considering it's basically the size of a cleaning closet.
Perfect breakfast, nice room decor. comfortable bed, and central location.
Extremely small room, no bath, shower only, one small chair, no desk, very tiny place for clothing, 512 kb internet or 10 Mb for 10 EUR:) And I hate then You're tired after journey and the e-key for room does not work. So had to go back with my staff and get a new one.
excellent location, friendly staff, very comfortable bed and pillows, cosines, good scandinavian breakfast in the lounge, excellent italian restaurant
slightly shabby floor, but it looks like a design detail
Staff were warm and super helpful nothing was too much when we asked questions or to call and make bookings for us! Everyone was very professional but also relaxed in their approach. Sparking wine on arrival! I wish I knew the staff by name to thank them publicly as they made the stay feel even more warm and familiar.
The Italian breakfast had a good selection but they charge you extra for a real coffee (which wasn't great) which seems odd considering you could attend both the Scandinavian and Italian breakfast options if you really wanted too in the same sitting.
upgrade to a large room, breakfast included
maid was pretty persistent with cleaning room while we were trying to relax; tram outside street sometimes sounds like thunder
The location is excellent. The Italian restaurant was very nice. The room was nice enough. The staff were helpful.
No where to rest suitcases. No hooks in the bathroom to hang towels / bathrobe. Paid for an upgrade to a larger room with a view but the windows were so high up all we could see was the sky! We were only there for one night so it made no difference... no doubt we could have moved if we'd asked.
