Our stay was complicated by the ongoing strike which was having a significant effect, but people went out of their was to make our stay a success. Torshavn is not a great place for vegetarians with very limited choices, and unfortunately most restaurants had set menus with no a la carte. We went at the end of May, and as well as everything being shut on Sundays many bars were also shut on Monday and Tuesdays.

Small city, easy to walk around to get to places in the city, slippery in the winter, terrain is uphill and down hill sometimes but railings are everywhere. Really good restaurants like Aristova and Barbara.A lovely corner cafe and book store called Paname Supermarkets have nearly everything including GF breads.People are very friendly and help you if and when lost.Must visit the red houses!AshwaqKuwait - 10Scored 10

It’s the town center of Faroe Islands.
It’s the town center of Faroe Islands. A charming town but not much to do. There are some good restaurants but the food was a bit on the pricy side, which is understandable considering they may be imported or flown from other places. Getting around the islands by car is fairly easy. It’s feasible to drive to the sightseeing spots on the map within a day, if no hiking is needed. One of my favorite cities (and I've travelled a lot).
One of my favorite cities (and I've travelled a lot). It's the biggest city in the Faroe islands, yet the feeling is different compared to any city in other countries. Peacefull, well maintained beautiful city where you can find everything you need . Lots of restaurants and bars around the harbour area, very easy to find orientate.

Lovely old town, cathedral with pretty garden and turf roves of parliament buildings. Can you find the ancient circle carved into the rock near the water. Good Tourist Info with loo. Lovely lunch in cafe set back from Main Street which also sold cheese. Toasted sourdough sandwich……very nice. Do visit National Art Gallery near cute wooded park with pond……if you can find it……best to ask!

The center of Tórshavn can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. The ferries to Nolsoy, Suðuroy and Sandoy are in close proximity. The holiday apartment is modernly furnished, including a kitchen with a dishwasher. A washing machine can also be used. The contact with the landlord was very pleasant and he was always helpful with questions. It was a pleasant place to get back to after an eventful day, exploring the Faroe Islands.

It has a small sheltered garden that we used for eating when the weather was good enough. The house is well equipped with two bathrooms and two showers. There is a supermarket in a short walk down the road which has good opening times and a good selection. From the house, it's relatively easy to get into Torshavn by foot, bus or driving. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff and bartender. Although we weren't often at the hotel at 5:00, the complimentary wine hour was a nice touch.
