Really good city to visit.
Really good city to visit. I've been to Paris, Marseille, Nice, Toulouse and Lyon, Montpellier is easily much better than all those places. There are enough sites of interest to go and see, plenty of shops and many bars and restaurants to visit. You can easily get an tram and bus to the beach, which we did on 4 days. Depending which beach you visit you can be there between 45 minutes and 1 hour. I found Montpellier to be a very safe city for tourists both day and night.Guest review bystefanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Montpellier is one of those rare cities that effortlessly blends youthful energy with centuries of history. From the moment you arrive, you're struck by its elegant architecture, sun-drenched squares and the lively buzz of its streets. The historic centre, with its winding medieval alleys and grand 17th-century mansions, is a joy to explore on foot. The Place de la Comédie is the beating heart of the city - always alive with street performers, cafés, and the gentle hum of conversation. Just a short walk away, the Promenade du Peyrou offers sweeping views and a peaceful spot to unwind. We were there during the Festival of Swing - a very lucky coincidence. Swinging Montpellier is a joyful celebration of jazz and swing dance that transforms the city into a lively stage each summer, drawing dancers, musicians and enthusiasts from across Europe. A beautiful historical City, quite Walkable. Lots of Shops, Restaurants, Bars, Cafes ~ mostly extremely Dog Friendly. People Watching at Place de la Comedie was enjoyable, with occasional street entertainment.
