B&B HOTEL Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint-Jean is located in Bordeaux, within 1.4 miles of Stone Bridge and 1.2 miles of Saint Michel Basilica.

Not much to say here—very basic no frills spot for a short stay. The area is sort of a "new industrial" city feel, without restaurants or anything to do nearby. Train station is close though as the walk into the center is about 45 minutes. Staff was friendly.

FAQs about hotels in Bordeaux

A Taste to Suit Everyone’s Palette

Raise your wine glass and toast the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. Having produced wine since the 8th century, it’s fair to say the second largest wine producer in the world is worth the trip for the vin alone. The city itself has spread outwards, rather than upwards, and the result is a very pretty town center, filled with stone mansions and terraced housing comparable to Paris.

Cultured Bordeaux is filled with museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Musee D'Aquitaine. The streets provide an equally interesting exhibition of fine architecture including the Victory Arch and the Aquitaine Bridge. On the shores of the river lies the Les Chartrons district, which is a blend of ferry boat rides, picturesque views and buzzing nightlife while the bars and cafes in the La Victoire district are frequented by students.

A tour of the famous vineyards is probably on the itinerary and this can be accomplished by visiting the wineries and châteaux privately or as part of a tour. You can also worship the wine gods at the Bordeaux Wine Festival held during the summer.

Visitors can easily make the short trip to the heart of Bordeaux from the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. With 70 hotels and bed & breakfasts available, Booking.com allows you to discover the vibrant and friendly heart of the vineyard region.

    Tram system.

Tram system. Simple, comfortable, goes anywhere you like, affordable tickets. So many good eateries but avoid multi-tasking ones (one where clothing was part of it, the server never showed). Cite du Vin a must visit. The Boardwalk by Cite du Vin. Countless little squares with oodles of cafes and bars. To top it all off, one is in Bordeaux!

Bordeaux is a beautiful city with lots to see and do.

Bordeaux is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. Excellent direct Tram service from outside the aiport to the city centre which costs 1.80 Euros. Most of the main sights are easily accessible on foot. I would recommend doing a walking tour. It is a great way to see the city and learn about the history and culture of the place and it's people. There are lots of lovely restaurants and cafes. I am coeliac which can be challenging while travelling but restaurant staff were generally knowledgeable and helpful and there are a few dedicated gluten free cafes. If you get the chance I would recommend visiting the Base Sous-Marine which was a German submarine bunker during WW2 but has now been converted into a fabulous exhibition space. Great place to visit with friendly people.

Everything! A 5 star hotel could not be better. Elegant accommodation, spacious grounds. The most welcoming hosts you could wish for. Lovely breakfast with the chocolate croissants flaking off in delicate layers of pastry. Close to trams which take you everywhere in Bordeaux. The owners organised reservations in good restaurants and were most helpful when we had trouble with our car. Having travelled extensively in France, this establishment and the owners rate as one of our best experiences

A stunning little boutique hotel in the heart of the old city center - exactly where you want to be when visiting Bordeaux! The personell is extremely friendly and helped us make the best out of our trip - food, shopping and sight seeing tips included. The interior of the hotel is well designed and the rooms are cosy, modern, very quiet and clean. Ah and then there is the amazing rooftop breakfast, something you definitely don't want to miss! The hotel seems brand new and it is very clean. There are toiletries at reception and you can help yourself to shampoo, lotion, and soap which is really nice. The hotel is about 40 minutes walk from the city center which is fine for those who don't mind walking and there is also plenty of buses and trams to get you there. The hotel is very close to the main train station in Bordeaux. Staff are very nice.

The location is outside the City Center. It’s about a 3 euro tram ride to the centre and takes about eight or nine minutes which could easily walk if you don’t mind doing that. We return to Bordeaux week later and we decide to spend the extra 15 euro a night and found a spot located in the old quarter. It wasn’t quite as nice a hotel with the trade-off giving us a better location was worth it.
