The location was beautiful, with stunning views from the bedrooms. The staff were excellent with no request or question too much trouble. Unlike so many hotels, the Hollytree has a sizable car park with plenty of space for all the guests. The restaurant's starters and main courses were excellent and well presented. However, the selection of deserts were mainly the same old, tired choices of sticky toffee pudding, brownies and cheesecake.

Onich is really well positioned to visit some great places.
Onich is really well positioned to visit some great places. Ben Nevis is at Fort William, with the delicious whiskey distillery at its foot. Definitely visit Loch Shiel (famous filming location) and the viaduct at Glenfinnan (as seen in Harry Potter). You'll be totally spoilt with the stunning scenery on the way to and from Eilean Donan castle on Loch Duich - it's a bit of a drive but so, so worth it.SpicerUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

The view of the loch was good. It was a stormy day and night, but that was an interesting view too. It was a small simple room, which is all we need. I could do without the TV. You need to go and experience to understand how wonderful and amazing this place is and how staff put lots of effort to make you feel comfortable. It's so hard to describe it. Everything - place where hotel is - people who works there - surrounding area which they created like amazing garden clean beach Is just worth to see. Loved the location. Our room had a balcony and a fantastic view over Loch Linnhe. They have an excellent chef and evening meals were delicious & reasonably priced. They also had a well stocked bar. The owner, manager and staff were all very polite and helpful and it was so good we opted to stay another night. Not everyone enjoys a buffet breakfast but it was good quality and suited us except for the food not being hot enough. Excellent location and room. The owners are evidently investing a lot to update the hotel and when complete will be very good. The owners are very helpful and friendly but their staff let them down with their lack of professionalism.alexandra

We were given a room upgrade with views to the lake as it was our anniversary. 😍 We had dinner and breakfast there and it was sooooooooooo good to have vegan options on the menu, although we ate way too much. Breakfast was so cheap for everything that was included. They gave us recommendations on where to visit also. This area probably has to be our favourite out of our whole trip. Will definitely be back👍🏻

The hosts were extremely responsive and friendly. The cottage was spotless and incredibly cute. Our cottage was a little small for three adults (I was traveling with my 2 adult children) but it was cozy and perfect for our purposes. We enjoyed the public lounge at night as it is large and comfortable with view of the lake. Pizza, snacks, drinks and desserts were great. Breakfast also was just right. The staff were very helpful with restaurant and walking trails suggestions. We loved the charm of the older building and the view of the lake.
