Loch Leven Hotel & Distillery, hotel in Onich

With a beautiful loch-side setting and mountain views, this award-winning family-run hotel offers free Wi-Fi and free private parking.

The hotel itself was beautiful, the area was beautiful, the staff were amazing to talk to, they were friendly and more than happy to help. The food was a good portion size, tasted amazing and the alcohol selection was good too. There were beautiful views all around, the gin class available on the website is 100% worth signing up for, it's informative, fun, you get to have a few drinks on the tour of the distillery and you get to make your own gin, name it and wax seal it too, obviously for a price, the tour guide of the distillery was good to talk to, good to joke around with, it was overall a brilliant experience.

Onich is really well positioned to visit some great places.

Onich is really well positioned to visit some great places. Ben Nevis is at Fort William, with the delicious whiskey distillery at its foot. Definitely visit Loch Shiel (famous filming location) and the viaduct at Glenfinnan (as seen in Harry Potter). You'll be totally spoilt with the stunning scenery on the way to and from Eilean Donan castle on Loch Duich - it's a bit of a drive but so, so worth it.

The view of the loch was good.

The view of the loch was good. It was a stormy day and night, but that was an interesting view too. It was a small simple room, which is all we need. I could do without the TV. The picture on the website made it super easy to spot as we approached. This was a great location for a stopover between things we did.

The Onich hotel is in a spectacular setting. We have stayed here before, we loved our stay then and we loved it this time too. The room and facilities were all one might expect and the food was top rate. We'll definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

    Loved the location.

Loved the location. Our room had a balcony and a fantastic view over Loch Linnhe. They have an excellent chef and evening meals were delicious & reasonably priced. They also had a well stocked bar. The owner, manager and staff were all very polite and helpful and it was so good we opted to stay another night. Not everyone enjoys a buffet breakfast but it was good quality and suited us except for the food not being hot enough. However this was quickly rectified & hopefully won’t be a problem in the future.

    Excellent location and room.

Excellent location and room. The owners are evidently investing a lot to update the hotel and when complete will be very good. The owners are very helpful and friendly but their staff let them down with their lack of professionalism.

The check in and check out process was very smooth and hassle free. The staff were attentive and kind, and always willing to see how you were doing. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was fantastic. Everything was very tasty and at a reasonable price. Breakfast was also very good! There were plenty of options to choose from and they brought it out for you as soon as it was cooked. Plus, the view from the dining room was fantastic! My room was comfortable and clean. It had a very cozy vibe and I felt at ease the moment I entered.

We were in the pods and the view was wonderful. They are small but clean and there is a fridge and a microwave and kettle and two rings to cook. The owner was lovely and tried really hard to make things work and the food was great and there was a good menu. Its a great place to stay if you want to visit and walk in Glen Coe or go to Fort William and you need a clean bed for the night and great food. I would think 2 persons max in each pod. Im not sure what the rooms in the hotel were like. The breakfast was also good

This property is located above Loch Linnhe and the views of the Loch are incredible from the big picture windows. The hosts were extremely responsive and friendly. The cottage was spotless and incredibly cute. Our cottage was a little small for three adults (I was traveling with my 2 adult children) but it was cozy and perfect for our purposes. There is a hotel within walking distance where we got dinner and Glencoe is only a short drive for excellent breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Location is great - right next to the ferry terminal and close to Glencoe hiking trails. Host was one of the friendliest and most helpful person I’ve met - gave us lots of useful recommendations and made our reservation in the restaurant. There’s waching machine in the drier room where you can dry your clothes. You can put you food into special container (that has your room number on it) and use fridge as well (we had one in the room too). Comfy beds and clean rooms!

The Lodge on the Loch Onich was a perfect place to stay on our journey from Inverness. it’s beautifully located by the water and has a stunning view over the mountains and water. We felt very welcomed and got some great advices on places to go and see in the area, which made our journey even better so we are very thankful for the kind owner. The restaurant was also very cozy and served good food for dinner and breakfast.

Goodness where to begin.. room 7 is a deluxe with balcony, the room itself was good with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was new with a huge bath and brilliant shower. The highlight has to be the view it is breathtakingly amazing and the sound of the waves on the shore bliss!! I found the restaurant food was of a very good standard and the service very good too 😊

this was a quintessentially Scottish b&b experience. The owner Clair was accommodating and friendly, she helped us get a reservation at an outstanding local seafood restaurant and Angela educated us at the extensive whiskey bar. The view alone is worth a stay, the hospitality made it the most memorable stop on our Scotland tour.

Fantastic hosts, who provided us with a comfortable home setting away from home. Comfortable bed, shower great and good breakfast to start the day. Mairi also guided us to get medical care after I got knee injury and to amazing local cafes, restaurants and sites. Our preferred one was Lochleven Seafood Cafe! Superb!

The room was spacious and beautifully decorated and there was food and drink in the 'fridge which I didn't expect. We took a ride on the ferry (free for foot passengers) to the other side of the loch although there wasn't really anything over there. We enjoyed it though and we saw a seal!

Beautiful location, for exploring the mountains, with a small private beach. We just need to revisit in the summer to take full advantage of the beach. The Onich Hotel was only 2 minutes walk away, gorgeous food and very friendly staff who accommodated our party of 6 with 2 dogs no problem
